Reporting Matrix
The role will report to the National Sales Manager and will have around 4–5 direct reportees, with a larger team of 1000+ members down the line.
Job Description
Drive EDC (POS) business growth and market share in the assigned city/region.
Build and expand the merchant acceptance network for Paytm Soundbox, Card Machines, Android POS, and other payment acceptance solutions.
Ensure strong visibility, deployment, and active usage of EDC devices across merchant outlets.
Identify, recruit, and manage a high-performing sales team to drive merchant acquisition and device penetration.
Coach and mentor team members to improve productivity, capability, and execution excellence.
Plan market coverage, span, and geography allocation for City Managers, ASMs, Team Leaders, and Field Sales Executives.
Design and communicate clear sales targets and execution plans to ensure achievement of business objectives.
Drive merchant onboarding, device installation, activation, and transaction growth.
Monitor key business metrics including acquisitions, installations, activations, transaction volumes, device productivity, and retention.
Conduct audits and validations to ensure quality merchant onboarding and deployment processes.
Ensure strong on-ground execution and market presence to accelerate merchant acquisition and payment acceptance growth.
Collaborate with Product, Operations, Service, Risk, and Support teams to enhance merchant experience and business outcomes.
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, enterprise merchants, channel partners, and distribution networks.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, operational guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Key Requirements
Proven experience in EDC/POS sales, merchant acquiring, payments, fintech, banking, or financial services.
Strong understanding of card acceptance business, QR payments, POS/EDC deployment, merchant acquiring, and payment ecosystems.
Experience in managing large on-ground sales teams and distribution networks.
Strong leadership, coaching, and people management capabilities.
Ability to drive execution in a high-growth, target-driven environment.
Excellent stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned geography.
Strong networking, relationship-building, and merchant engagement capabilities.
Experience in scaling device deployment and driving transaction-led growth will be preferred.
