For a leading multinational beverage company: Tax & Accounting Supervisor
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with local GAAP and IFRS Group reporting requirements.
- Act as Class A’ certified accountant with full signing authority for statutory financial statements and tax filings.
- Ensure full compliance with Greek tax legislation, including corporate tax, VAT, withholding taxes, and other statutory obligations.
- Manage and coordinate all tax-related processes and act as primary liaison with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to Group Finance and IFRS schedules.
- Supervise statutory financial statements preparation and submission in accordance with Greek regulatory requirements.
- Perform current income tax calculations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Calculate and monitor deferred tax, including recognition, tracking, and reconciliation.
- Conduct reconciliation between tax and accounting bases, ensuring alignment and proper documentation.
- Provide guidance and leadership to the local accounting team and ensure continuous process improvement.
- Ensure compliance with labour legislation from an accounting and financial reporting perspective (payroll execution managed by HR, with accounting oversight as required).
- Support FP&A teams with accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
- Coordinate audit processes (internal and external), ensuring timely resolution of audit findings.
- Use ERP systems (e.g., SAP) for accurate financial processing and reporting.
- Perform monthly MyData reconciliation with ERP, ensuring completeness and accuracy of reported transactions and following up on missing or unmatched invoices.
- Manage weekly supplier payment processes, including review and update of the BPO list where required, and preparation of payments for suppliers, salaries, and taxes.
- Propose and participate in process improvement initiatives, automation projects, and internal control enhancements.
Requirements
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., ACCA, SOEL) will be considered a strong asset.
- Mandatory Class A’ certified accountant license with signing authority in Greece.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably in multinational or FMCG environments.
- Fluent in Greek and English (written and spoken). Italian is an advantage.
- Strong expertise in Greek tax legislation, VAT, corporate tax, and statutory compliance.
- Proven experience in statutory reporting (incl. myDATA) and audit coordination.
- Solid understanding of labour-related accounting and compliance requirements. Payroll experience is considered an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP.
- Experience working in SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with ability to manage and develop accounting teams.
- High level of analytical thinking, accuracy, responsibility, and ability to operate under tight deadlines.
