About the Role:
HD Contractor Ltd is seeking a motivated Business Development Specialist to join our Additions & Alterations (A&A) team. The successful candidate will be responsible for converting warm leads, building long-term client relationships, preparing quotations and cost estimates, and driving business growth across Auckland and surrounding areas, including Hamilton.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Client Management:
- Follow up on warm leads and client enquiries.
- Conduct site visits and consultations to understand client requirements.
- Provide professional advice and prepare quotations, cost estimates, and scope breakdowns.
- Negotiate and close sales while maintaining strong client relationships.
Estimation & Costing:
- Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
- Calculate material and labour costs for renovation projects.
- Ensure pricing meets company margin targets.
Business Development:
- Develop new business through networking and referrals.
- Identify new renovation opportunities.
- Build long-term relationships with repeat clients.
- Support the growth of the A&A department.
Project Coordination:
- Act as the main liaison between clients and internal teams.
- Coordinate with purchasing and site supervisors.
- Ensure smooth communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in construction sales, renovation coordination, or a related role.
- Experience in construction, renovation, project costing, or quotation preparation is preferred.
- Ability to interpret basic construction drawings and prepare cost estimates.
- Basic knowledge of material and labour costing.
- Strong communication, negotiation, organisation, and customer relationship skills.
- Commercially minded and confident discussing pricing and project scope.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and email.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and in a team.
- NZ Full Driver Licence.
- Tertiary qualification in construction, business, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
