Our subsidiary (SOOR) is seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join its team. SOOR delivers enterprise technology and cybersecurity solutions that support digital transformation initiatives across public and private sector organizations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database administration, security, encryption, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity and regulatory requirements, while supporting the implementation and maintenance of secure, high-performing database environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct current-state assessments of existing database environments to identify security gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Install, configure, administer, and maintain enterprise database platforms.
  • Support the implementation of database encryption solutions, including Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) or equivalent technologies.
  • Configure and manage encryption for data at rest and data in transit.
  • Ensure database security configurations comply with National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) cybersecurity controls and organizational security policies.
  • Support the integration, testing, validation, and troubleshooting of database encryption mechanisms.
  • Monitor database performance, availability, and security to ensure optimal operation.
  • Perform database installation, upgrades, patching, migrations, and version management.
  • Manage database backup, recovery, replication, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
  • Implement database performance tuning and optimization.
  • Manage database users, roles, privileges, and access permissions.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, standard operating procedures, and security documentation.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, application, and project teams to implement secure database solutions.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve database-related issues while ensuring data integrity and system availability.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational governance, security, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator.
  • Strong experience administering Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other enterprise database platforms.
  • Hands-on experience implementing database encryption technologies such as Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) or equivalent.
  • Experience configuring SSL/TLS encryption for secure database communications.
  • Strong understanding of database security principles, access control, and encryption best practices.
  • Experience with database backup, recovery, replication, clustering, and high-availability architectures.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and performance tuning skills.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Saudi National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) Essential Cybersecurity Controls (ECC).
  • Experience with enterprise key management solutions.
  • Experience supporting government or large enterprise environments.
  • Professional certifications such as:
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft SQL Server Certification
  • PostgreSQL Certification
  • CISSP (Preferred)
