We are seeking to hire a Cassandra DBA to join Data team. The ideal candidates have strong operational leadership, a service-centric mindset

Requirements

Cluster Management: Install, configure, and manage Cassandra clusters. Add or remove nodes, manage replication factors, and maintain maximum uptime.

Performance Optimization: Analyze data access patterns, identify bottlenecks, and fine-tune JVM, garbage collection, and database configurations for scalability.

Data Modeling: Work with software engineers to design efficient data models, partition keys, and write optimal CQL (Cassandra Query Language) queries

Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Use monitoring tools like DataStax OpsCenter, Prometheus, and nodetool/dsetool to monitor system health and resolve production issues.

Security & Backups: Implement data encryption, access controls, and establish backup/disaster recovery strategies

Capacity Planning: Forecast hardware, storage, and compute requirements based on projected business growth

Understanding of Cassandra internals (SSTable,meltable, compaction, repair, gossip protocol, consistent hashing) and familiarity with backup and restore strategies

Automation: Automate routine operational tasks and cluster provisioning using tools like Bash, Python, or Ansible

The following will be considered as a plus:

Use monitoring tools like DataStax OpsCenter, Prometheus, and nodetool/dsetool to monitor system health and resolve production issues.

Capacity Planning: Forecast hardware, storage, and compute requirements based on projected business growth
