Job Summary:
The Tooling & Asset Manager is responsible for the management, maintenance, procurement, inventory, and lifecycle of all company-owned tooling, production equipment, calibrated instruments, warehouse equipment, and assigned field assets. This role ensures employees have the right tools available when needed while maximizing asset utilization, controlling costs, maintaining compliance, and minimizing downtime.
The Tooling & Asset Manager develops and maintains standardized processes for issuing, tracking, maintaining, repairing, calibrating, and replacing company assets across all Panelmatic facilities.
Job Duties:
- Manage the daily operation of the tool crib, ensuring accurate inventory and availability of tools and company assets.
- Maintain and administer the company's asset management system, including asset tracking, lifecycle management, transfers, and retirement.
- Procure tooling, equipment, and MRO supplies through supplier sourcing, quotation, negotiation, and purchase order management.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance, repairs, warranties, and calibration programs for company-owned tools and equipment.
- Perform cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory optimization to maintain high inventory accuracy and control costs.
- Support manufacturing operations by ensuring tooling availability, responding to urgent tooling needs, and standardizing tooling solutions.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, ISO, and company safety requirements through inspections, documentation, and audit support.
- Develop and maintain standardized processes for tool crib operations, asset management, and equipment accountability.
- Monitor asset utilization, inventory performance, and key performance indicators while identifying opportunities to reduce loss, downtime, and operating costs.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Procurement teams to support operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in tool crib operations, asset management, maintenance, inventory control, or manufacturing.
- Experience with ERP systems, inventory management, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational and customer service skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Must be able to work on-site five days per week and regularly support production floor operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field preferred.
