Location: Mumbai- WFO

We are implementing a new weather routing/voyage optimisation service and require an experienced person to help set up to service and processes. The candidate should have experience in a similar role in voyage optimisation, have technical knowledge of how the service is delivered, and be able to manage all the questions from the crew on the routing advise.

Job Description:

• Participate in building the optimisation user interface and service delivery.
• Set up the processes for the service delivery.
• Test the Route Optimization tool to have the best outputs that is easy to understand for various stakeholders (at Sea and at shore).
• Onboard vessels to the service and deliver the service to the vessels.
• Train other members of the team on voyage optimization service delivery.
• Analyze each passage and ensure the vessel is following the best route optimized for distance, speed, weather, etc
• Handle multiple stakeholders and share insights for the suggested optimized routes. Co-ordinate with customer / vessels and provide clarification as required to questions on the optimisation.
• Generate reports after the completion of the voyage to show the impact of the recommendations made

Requirements:

• Preferably from the deck side but anyone with 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Good understanding of commercial performance- specifically good knowledge of impact of weather and routes.
• Knowledge of IT will be helpful to understand the development side of product
• Fluent in English, both oral and written.
• Knowledge and ability to train other people.
