Introduction to the team
Expedia Technology teams partner with our Product teams to create innovative products, services, and tools to deliver high-quality experiences for travelers, partners, and our employees. A singular technology platform powered by data and machine learning provides secure, differentiated, and personalized experiences that drive loyalty and traveler satisfaction.

We're the team behind the JVM platform that powers mission-critical traffic across ExpediaGroup. We design and operate the core templates and tooling for JVM developers withinEG. We’re solving complex challenges in service performance, design patterns at scale, and platform enablement.
We're looking for an engineer who is excited about shaping how modern platforms are built.

What you will do:

• Design, build, and develop the core JVM framework and tooling
• Provide technical support and guidance to platform users
• Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to find solutions to best increase developer productivity
• Drive continuous improvement and continuous delivery in our software
• development process within an agile development team
• Leverage AI to modernize our platform tools

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field, and 2+ years of hands-on software development experience, ideally in large-scale or enterprise environments
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
• A solid understanding of API design and experience working on a platform team
• Experience developing features with Kotlin/JVM

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing and maintaining robust, scalable applications
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and CI/CD pipeline
• Familiarity with Spring Boot

The total cash range for this position in Austin is $119,000.00 to $166,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $190,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
