Job Role: Social Media Strategist

Compensation range: $2,000 AUD - $2,500 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM-5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: Our client is a fast-growing Australian consumer brand specialising in innovative clothing care products. Launched in late 2025, the business has already achieved over 10,000 orders and expanded into Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. With plans to enter the US market, the company is entering an exciting phase of international growth and continued brand expansion.

Role Overview: We are looking for a Social Media Strategist to take full ownership of organic social across Instagram and TikTok.

Paid advertising is already performing well. The opportunity is to build an organic social presence that actually drives attention, engagement, community, and growth.

This is not a scheduling or video editing role. The successful candidate will decide what the brand should post, why it should post it, and how the content should be created. This includes developing ideas, hooks, scripts and briefs, briefing the founder or external creators, and building the systems needed to consistently execute the strategy.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Own the Instagram and TikTok content strategy and calendar.
• Develop content ideas, hooks, recurring series, scripts and creative briefs.
• Stay across TikTok and Instagram trends and identify opportunities relevant to the brand.
• Source creators and influencers, manage outreach, briefs, deadlines, content collection and ongoing relationships.
• Build and maintain a structured creator and influencer pipeline.
• Identify brand partnership opportunities including collaborations, giveaways, gifting and co-created content.
• Develop and manage PR box concepts, recipient lists, sends and follow-up.
• Build an engaged community by responding to comments and DMs in the brand's voice.
• Identify, collect and repost customer-generated content.
• Support customer service through social DMs and emails relating to orders, shipping and returns.
• Set up and maintain the tools, workflows and systems required to execute the organic social strategy.
• Track performance and continuously refine the content strategy based on what is working.

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Social Media Strategist, Organic Social Specialist or similar role, ideally within ecommerce.
• Strong understanding of Instagram and TikTok content strategy and organic growth.
• Excellent written English with a natural, conversational and casual tone.
• Strong understanding of social trends, hooks, formats and what makes content engaging.
• Confident with creator sourcing, outreach, relationship management and follow-up.
• Highly organised and able to independently manage content calendars, creator pipelines and PR lists.
• Strong initiative and ability to make decisions without constant direction.
• Comfortable developing scripts, briefs and content direction for others to execute.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of how organic social can contribute to brand growth.
