About the role:
We're seeking an experienced SMSF Manager to join our growing Business Advisory team. Based in Albury, this is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong SMSF specialist who enjoys leading a team, building client relationships, and contributing to the continued growth of a high-performing practice.
For the right candidate, we are open to remote working arrangements anywhere within Australia.
Working closely with Partners and senior leaders, you'll play a key role in overseeing SMSF compliance and advisory services, mentoring team members, and delivering exceptional outcomes for clients.
Key Responsibilities
Review SMSF work papers and ensure appropriate evidence is documented before files progress to audit
Apply SMSF legislation, regulations, and relevant case law to client circumstances
Review and oversee the preparation of SMSF financial statements and compliance obligations
Ensure all lodgement and reporting deadlines are achieved
Manage team workflow and allocate work effectively across the SMSF function
Provide coaching, mentoring and technical guidance to team members
Share industry knowledge, market trends and best practices across the team
Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying value-add opportunities
Work collaboratively with Partners on client matters, workflow management and team development
Contribute to business development initiatives and growth opportunities within the practice
About you:
You are an experienced SMSF professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional client outcomes. With a strong technical understanding of SMSF legislation and compliance requirements, you combine attention to detail with a commercial mindset and a commitment to service excellence. You enjoy building trusted client relationships, mentoring others, and identifying opportunities to add value.
Essential
5-7+ years' experience within Professional Services, with significant SMSF experience
Previous experience leading or managing a team
Strong working knowledge of SMSF legislation and compliance requirements
Experience using Class Super (CLASS)
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a team
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
Exposure to client relationship management and business development activities
Qualifications
Business, Commerce or Accounting degree
CA/CPA qualified or working towards completion (preferred)
