À propos de ce poste Shopify Developer chez Assist World
About the Company
We are a growing lighting company with locations across North America, specialising in residential and commercial lighting.
The business operates three Shopify stores covering wholesale, direct-to-consumer and luxury/heavy-trade customers, with a combined catalogue of approximately 4,000 SKUs.
The Role
We are looking for a Part-Time Shopify Developer to join the team and take ownership of the technical and development side of the Shopify stores.
You will work alongside a full-time Shopify Manager who will handle the day-to-day site operations, catalogue management and content updates. Your focus will be on development, troubleshooting, integrations and ongoing technical improvements.
This is not a from-scratch app development role. The business already has a custom product recommendation engine and several integrations in place. You will primarily be working within the existing environment — modifying, extending, troubleshooting and maintaining what is already there, as well as handling general Shopify theme and Liquid development.
Key Responsibilities
- Modify, extend and troubleshoot existing Shopify apps and integrations, including the custom product recommendation engine.
- Develop and maintain Shopify themes using Liquid and Online Store 2.0.
- Work across three Shopify stores, implementing new functionality and technical improvements as required.
- Support the technical setup of the business's four-tier B2B pricing and catalogue structure, including price lists, customer-specific pricing and gated content.
- Troubleshoot technical issues such as theme conflicts, app conflicts, cart and checkout issues.
- Assist with Klaviyo integrations and technical setup when required.
- Work closely with the full-time Shopify Manager and Sales/Marketing teams to handle development requests and ongoing technical improvements.
- Take over development tasks currently managed by an external agency.
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Shopify Plus development.
- Excellent knowledge of Liquid, Shopify theme architecture and Online Store 2.0.
- Experience working within and modifying an existing codebase, including debugging and extending apps or integrations built by other developers.
- Experience with Shopify B2B, including price lists, customer/company-specific pricing and login-gated catalogues or content.
- Experience working with large Shopify product catalogues.
- Familiarity with Matrixify or similar bulk import/export tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision.
Nice-to-Have Experience
- Experience with Klaviyo and Shopify/ESP integrations.
- Experience working alongside or taking over from an external Shopify development agency.
- Experience with product recommendation engines, personalisation tools or similar Shopify technology.
- Previous experience supporting multi-store Shopify environments.
Contract & Logistics
- Part-time contract role – approximately 20 hours per week.
- Engaged through Assist World.
- You will work alongside a full-time Shopify Manager responsible for day-to-day Shopify operations.
- Must be available during PST business hours for communication and collaboration with the team.
- Compensation will be confirmed based on the client's available monthly budget.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who can step into an existing Shopify environment and hit the ground running. You should be comfortable troubleshooting technical issues, working with existing code and integrations, and finding practical solutions without needing constant direction.
If you're an experienced Shopify Plus developer who enjoys working independently and taking ownership of the technical side of an established e-commerce environment, we'd love to hear from you.
