Job Role: SEO AEO Specialist
Compensation range: $2,000 AUD - $2,500 AUD / Monthly
Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement
Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.
Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.
Who The Client Is: An established Australian-based marketing agency working with a diverse portfolio of businesses across different industries. Alongside its client services, the business operates a growing e-commerce merchandise brand with an online Shopify store.
This role will support the agency's SEO requirements across client accounts while also taking ownership of organic search growth for the e-commerce business.
Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced SEO AEO Specialist with strong hands-on SEO expertise and a practical understanding of how AI is changing search.
You will split your time between delivering SEO work across agency client accounts under the direction of the marketing team, while also independently driving SEO and AEO initiatives for the company's e-commerce business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute SEO strategies across client accounts and the e-commerce business.
- Conduct keyword research, competitor analysis, SEO audits and AEO research using Semrush.
- Optimise website content, including product descriptions, meta titles, headings, FAQs and other on-page elements.
- Create and optimize SEO-focused content, including blog posts, news articles and other organic search content.
- Manage and improve SEO performance within Shopify, ensuring products and content are structured for search visibility.
- Develop strategies to improve visibility across traditional search engines and AI-powered search platforms.
- Develop organic LinkedIn and social posts to promote new articles, news, products and other relevant content.
- Monitor rankings, search performance and technical/on-page SEO health.
- Prepare clear, actionable SEO reports and recommendations.
- Identify emerging SEO and AEO trends and proactively recommend opportunities.
- Use AI tools to support research, analysis, content development and reporting.
- Work collaboratively on client SEO requirements while independently driving organic search growth for the internal e-commerce brand.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally across multiple websites, industries or client accounts.
- Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals, including keyword research, on-page optimisation, technical SEO, content strategy and performance analysis.
- Hands-on experience with Semrush is essential.
- Hands-on experience with Shopify is essential, particularly managing on-page SEO elements and product optimisation.
- Working knowledge of AEO (AI Engine Optimisation) and how AI-powered search is changing the way users discover information.
- Strong written English and the ability to turn SEO data into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Comfortable using AI tools to support research, reporting and content workflows.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple SEO priorities across client and internal projects.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with AI image-generation tools for social media or marketing content.
- Strong AI prompting skills across platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude or similar tools.
- Experience working with e-commerce SEO, particularly Shopify stores.

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
