Department Overview
The Global Ad Technology Supervisory Department (GATD) manages the whole of the advertising systems that power Rakuten. We are a cross-functional and data-driven organization working together in a diverse team spread across five countries: Japan, Singapore, India, China and UK.
We develop Advertisement Delivery Platform, RUNA(Rakuten Unified Advertisement) mainly for Rakuten Group over 70 services. Develop advertisement products with Rakuten Ichiba, Rakuma, Rakuten Card, Rakuten Pay, Support monetization of Media, Rakuten Recipe, Rakuten Link, Infoseek. We communicate and proceed project well with a lot of stakeholders in Rakuten Group, it's an important team.

We are looking for talented software engineer, support our business growth and technical challenge for advertisement platform.
We expect lead some advertisement platform feature development with members.
You are responsible for advertisement platform feature development, communicate with stakeholders not only internal, but also outside of the team, decide Technical requirements and architecture, and proceed development with team members. Also, responsible for monitoring/alerting to keep service stability.
Position Details
・Development and maintenance of Rakuten Unified Advertisement platform backend system, backend API, data processing, etc.
・Strong ownership of feature, align with PDM and stakeholders, deliver on time, and add proper alerting and monitoring, also answer questions from support team and PDM regarding features you developed
・Consider entire architectures not to have an impact for other features, and response time properly
Mandatory Qualifications:
・5 years of system development experience. (especially Advertisement system)
・Strong knowledge of Golang
・Large scale web application development and performance tuning experiences
・GCP, AWS, Azure, public cloud operation experiences
・Strong knowledge of RDBMS, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
・Business level of English
Desired Qualifications:
・Big Query, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, GKE, GCP specific practical use
・SSP, DSP development experiences
・Experience in product improvement based on user feedback (e.g., incorporating insights from Customer Support)
・Experience in maintaining and refactoring long-running systems, including legacy codebases
・Hands-on experience in driving operational efficiency through software development/automation
・Ability to perform initial investigation, isolate issues, identify root causes, implement solutions, and establish preventive measures
・Experience in log analysis within cloud environments (e.g., Cloud Logging on GCP, CloudWatch on AWS)
・Ability to explain technical specifications, root causes of issues, and project progress clearly to non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
・Ability to break down complex tasks into manageable units, prioritize daily goals, and execute them consistently
・Strong collaborative mindset, including proactive escalation of uncertainties and providing support to team members to solve problems effectively
