Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of strategic, large-scale client engagements. In this role, you will oversee complex transformation programs while partnering with executive stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with exceptional customer satisfaction.

Beyond traditional project leadership, you will leverage AI-enabled delivery tools, predictive analytics, and automation to improve planning, optimize execution, anticipate risks, and drive smarter delivery decisions. You will also play a key role in mentoring project managers and helping shape the future of delivery excellence at Valiantys.

What you'll do

As a Senior Project Manager, you will:

  • Own concurrent delivery of the firm's most complex engagements, including those with multiple workstreams, stakeholder groups, high executive visibility, or compromised schedule, margin, or client confidence.
  • Own the project operating system, including the integrated plan, delivery cadence, risk and issue register, decision and change logs, stakeholder register, and communication plan.
  • Own the explainable financial position of each engagement, including approved budget, actual burn, forecast to complete, and margin against target, and construct the commercial case for change.
  • Own readiness at each stage gate and the recommendation to proceed, proceed with conditions, pause, or escalate.
  • Raise delivery quality through coaching, artifact review, and contribution to standards and templates, without line-management authority.
  • Responsibilities

Delivery Control and Project Operating System

    • Establish and maintain the integrated project plan, including dependencies, assumptions, decision points, milestone confidence, and downstream impacts.
    • Maintain governance records as current, evidenced, and traceable.
    • Set and enforce the delivery cadence across internal, client, and governance forums, with defined inputs and recorded outputs.
    • Interpret schedule and effort variance, identify corrective action, and secure required decisions before variance compounds.
    • Lifecycle Ownership and Stage-Gate Discipline

      • Own engagement delivery from pre-sales handoff and mobilization through discovery, design and planning, build and test, deployment and rollout, and value realization and close-out.
      • Validate at handoff that scope, assumptions, resourcing, commercial structure, and client obligations are executable, raising gaps before mobilization.
      • Issue an explicit readiness position at each phase transition based on scope, plan credibility, resourcing, client inputs, risks, decisions, financial position, and change control.
      • Refuse phase transition where readiness criteria are unmet and document the conditions and owners required to proceed.
      • Close engagements formally, including benefits position, outstanding risks, transition, and lessons learned.
      • Commercial Stewardship and Forecast Credibility

        • Maintain an explainable financial position covering approved budget, actual burn, forecast to complete, and margin against target.
        • Ensure added scope results in added budget, explicit de-scope, or adjusted timing rather than absorbed effort, and construct the supporting commercial case.
        • Provide timely inputs to utilization planning, work-in-progress review, and revenue recognition, flagging variance as it emerges.
        • Protect margin through resource mix, sequencing, and disciplined change control, escalating where this would compromise quality or client outcomes.
        • Risk, Issue, and Escalation Management

          • Identify delivery, commercial, technical, and client-side risk early, quantify exposure, and assign ownership, mitigation, and review points.
          • Escalate with issue, impact, owner, options, recommendation, decision required, deadline, and communication plan.
          • Treat escalation as a governance instrument and late escalation as the failure condition.
          • Track escalations through closure and record decisions, rationale, and downstream effects.
          • Stakeholder Governance and Executive Communication

            • Ensure stakeholders are not surprised by slippage, unresolved risk, over-consumption, dependency misses, scope changes, or consequences of client decisions.
            • Produce decision-ready governance material stating position, variance, exposure, options, and recommendation.
            • Pre-wire tradeoffs with relevant owners so governance forums resolve decisions rather than surface them.
            • Equip Engagement Directors and senior colleagues with the delivery evidence and framing required for executive conversations.
            • Engagement Recovery and Re-Baselining

              • Lead recovery of engagements that have lost schedule, margin, or client confidence, beginning with an evidenced assessment of actual position.
              • Define and execute recovery plans covering root cause, sequencing, resourcing, governance, client expectations, and what will not be recovered.
              • Re-baseline where the original plan is no longer defensible and secure required internal and client agreement.
              • Assume ownership of engagements inherited mid-flight, including diagnosis and correction of governance and commercial records.
              • Practice Contribution and People Development

                • Coach Project Managers through structured feedback, plan and artifact review, and preparation for governance forums.
                • Review delivery artifacts against defined standards and require correction where standards are unmet.
                • Contribute to delivery standards, templates, onboarding material, and lessons learned.
                • Provide performance input and capability observations to the Director of the Project Management Office without owning performance decisions.
                • Delivery Intelligence and Responsible AI-Enabled Delivery

                  • Surface renewal, expansion, and risk-to-account signals from delivery evidence and route them to Engagement Directors and Sales.
                  • Contribute delivery credibility to pursuits through input on approach, estimate realism, resourcing, assumptions, and delivery risk.
                  • Use approved artificial intelligence tooling to draft, summarize, and maintain project artifacts, validating outputs before publication or client use.
                  • Secure recording consent for client sessions and keep client data within approved locations and systems of record.
                  • Decision Rights and Collaboration

                    • The Senior Project Manager owns the delivery plan, cadence, governance artifacts, stage-gate readiness, forecast credibility, change control process, and escalation for assigned engagements.
                    • Project Managers own standard and medium-complexity engagements under coaching and artifact review from this role.
                    • Engagement Directors own account and executive sponsor relationships, commercial strategy, portfolio outcomes, and strategic escalation.
                    • Solution Consultants own business framing, outcome architecture, and solution intent.
                    • Technical Consultants own technical design, integration patterns, configuration, and technical feasibility.
                    • Delivery leadership owns resourcing, capacity allocation, methodology, and performance management.
                    • Sales owns account and pursuit strategy, pricing, negotiation, and close plan.
                    • Skills and Experience

                      Required Qualifications

                      • Eight to ten or more years of project delivery experience within professional services, management consulting, or systems integration, including sustained ownership of client-facing engagements.
                      • Demonstrated ownership of multiple concurrent complex engagements, including delivery performance and financial health.
                      • Proven full-lifecycle ownership from pre-sales handoff through close-out.
                      • Demonstrated commercial accountability for budget, forecast accuracy, margin, work-in-progress, utilization, and revenue recognition inputs.
                      • Experience operating within a directive delivery model with enforced stage-gate governance, change control, and artifact standards.
                      • Experience recovering engagements that have lost schedule, margin, or client confidence, including re-baselining and renegotiation of expectations.
                      • Executive-grade written and verbal communication and facilitation of senior governance forums.
                      • Demonstrated quality and risk management discipline, including methodology, confidentiality, contractual, compliance, and engagement risk requirements.
                      • Demonstrated ability to coach Project Managers and review delivery artifacts without line-management authority.
                      • Preferred Qualifications

                        • Experience delivering within the Atlassian ecosystem, including Jira, Confluence, and other Atlassian products.
                        • Experience in regulated or complex enterprise environments such as financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, or global multi-entity organizations.
                        • Relevant project, program, portfolio, Agile, or Atlassian certification.
                        • Experience contributing to pursuits through estimates, delivery approach, resourcing models, and statements of work.
                        • Experience contributing to practice development through standards, templates, onboarding, enablement, or delivery quality programs.
                        • Key Competencies

                          • Delivery control: converts intent into an executable plan and holds it against variance, dependencies, and competing pressure.
                          • Commercial judgement: understands engagement financials and protects margin without compromising outcomes.
                          • Executive communication: concise, credible, decision-oriented communication with senior stakeholders.
                          • Governance leadership: produces decision-ready material and runs forums that resolve rather than defer.
                          • Structured escalation: raises exposure early with options and a recommendation.
                          • Stakeholder discipline: maintains an accurate shared picture of engagement position.
                          • Recovery leadership: diagnoses compromised engagements and restores a defensible baseline.

                          • Career Path and Growth Options
