Your Impact

As a Senior Data Engineer within the Data Engineering team, you’ll be responsible for contributing to the ongoing operation, development, and strategic improvement of Entain’s corporate data warehouse.

You’ll take ownership of complex development initiatives, provide technical guidance on data engineering solutions, and help shape standards across performance, reliability, quality, and maintainability. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to understand business priorities, challenge assumptions where appropriate, and deliver scalable solutions that support the organisation’s evolving data needs.

You’ll be comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy, managing competing priorities, and using your expertise to improve both the platform and the way the team delivers.

A Day in the Life

• Own and optimise the Snowflake data warehouse, ensuring strong performance, scalability, cost efficiency, and reliability.
• Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver practical data solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines across a variety of data sources.
• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Use modern engineering tools and AI-enabled practices to enhance the way we build and support data solutions.
• Support testing frameworks, version control, and collaborative development practices.
  

Your Strengths

• Strong SQL- you can write and optimize stored procedures and functions confidently.
• Solid experience with Snowflake or a comparable cloud data warehouse.
• Data warehousing and dimensional modelling fundamentals (Kimball or similar).
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines, ideally with a tool like Matillion.
• Comfortable working with structured and semi-structured data (JSON, XML).
