Job Title: Senior Bookkeeper

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Bookkeeper to take ownership of the financial function across multiple businesses and entities.

This is not a basic or purely transactional bookkeeping role. We are looking for a commercially minded and analytical finance professional who can manage the day-to-day accounting function while also understanding the bigger financial picture.

The successful candidate must be comfortable analysing financial information, asking questions, identifying discrepancies, monitoring profitability and cash flow, and providing clear financial reporting to management.

They should be capable of operating with a high level of independence and responsibility, with the ability to support financial decision-making at a Director of Finance or CFO level when required, while remaining hands-on with the day-to-day financial operations.

• Take ownership of the day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting function across multiple businesses and entities.
• Manage and maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks.
• Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor expenses and ensure accurate financial recording.
• Analyse profitability, expenses, and financial performance across multiple businesses.
• Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting.
• Monitor and report on cash flow.
• Investigate discrepancies, unusual transactions, and inconsistencies in financial information.
• Analyse financial data and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Prepare clear and accurate financial reports for management.
• Ask questions and challenge financial information when something does not make sense.
• Ensure financial information is accurate, organised, and up to date.
• Manage multiple entities and priorities effectively.
• Work closely with management and communicate financial information clearly.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, and controls.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping and finance experience.
• Proven experience in a Senior Bookkeeper, Senior Accountant, Finance Manager, or similar role.
• Strong experience managing the bookkeeping function across multiple entities or businesses.
• Strong experience using QuickBooks.
