About the Role
We are looking for a strategic, customer-focused and data-driven Product Manager to own and scale products and experiences for Paytm’s offline merchant ecosystem.
The role will be responsible for defining product strategy, identifying customer and business opportunities, building product roadmaps and driving end-to-end execution across the product lifecycle. The candidate will work closely with Engineering, Design, Data, Business, Operations and other cross-functional teams to build products that improve merchant adoption, engagement, productivity and retention.
The ideal candidate will combine strong product thinking with analytical ability, customer empathy and execution excellence. This is a high-ownership role that requires the ability to translate complex business problems and merchant needs into simple, scalable and impactful product solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end product lifecycle across discovery, ideation, prioritization, development, launch and continuous iteration.
Define product vision, strategy and roadmap for key merchant-facing products and journeys within the Offline Merchants / EDC ecosystem.
Identify merchant pain points and business opportunities through customer research, product analytics, market insights and stakeholder inputs.
Translate customer and business requirements into clear product requirements, user stories, product specifications and actionable roadmaps.
Work closely with Engineering, Design, Data Science, Business, Operations and other teams to drive timely and high-quality product execution.
Define and track key product metrics across acquisition, activation, engagement, usage, retention and monetization, and use data to drive product decisions.
Drive experimentation, A/B testing and rapid iteration to validate product hypotheses and improve user experience and business outcomes.
Identify opportunities across merchant journeys and service products to improve adoption, engagement, transaction frequency and overall merchant experience.
Leverage analytics, segmentation, personalization and AI/Agentic capabilities to improve product experiences, automate workflows and create scalable solutions for merchants.
Develop a deep understanding of merchant behavior, competitive offerings and industry trends to identify new product opportunities.
Collaborate with business and operations teams to ensure successful product launches, adoption and scalability across the merchant ecosystem.
Establish strong product processes, documentation and prioritization frameworks to ensure effective execution across multiple stakeholders.
Own product charters based on evolving business priorities and identify new avenues for sustainable product and business growth.
Lead and mentor product managers / team members where applicable, fostering strong product thinking, ownership and execution excellence.
What We’re Looking For
Strong academic pedigree; Tier-1 institute preferred.
Relevant experience in Product Management, preferably with Tier-1 product, consumer internet, fintech or high-scale technology companies.
Proven experience in owning products end-to-end, from product discovery and strategy to launch, adoption and iteration.
Strong understanding of product development lifecycle, product strategy, roadmap planning and prioritization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data and customer insights into product decisions.
Hands-on experience with product analytics, experimentation, A/B testing, user segmentation and product metrics.
Experience building products for large-scale consumer, merchant or fintech ecosystems is preferred.
Understanding of merchant-facing products, payments, financial services or offline commerce will be an added advantage.
Experience leveraging AI / Agentic capabilities to enhance product experiences, automate workflows or improve decision-making.
Strong stakeholder-management and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with Engineering, Design, Data, Business and Operations teams.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate product vision, strategy and requirements clearly.
High ownership, structured problem-solving ability and a strong bias for execution.
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous and highly data-driven environment.
