À propos de ce poste People Ops Specialist (Temporary) chez Ukio
About Ukio |
We are one of the most promising startups of 2026 with headquarters in Spain. We were founded in Barcelona, and since then, we've expanded to include offices in Madrid, Lisbon, Berlin, and Paris. This is only the beginning as we've got our sights set on spreading to the rest of Europe and later to include other continents as well 🚀.
Ukio's mission is to empower individuals to live where they want, when they want 🌎. We do this by disrupting the traditional residential real estate market, providing fully furnished and artfully designed apartments for stays starting at one month. We remove all the hassle around finding a rental with no long-term contracts, security deposits, broker fees, moving/buying furniture, etc., giving choice and flexibility to allow people to plant their roots anywhere 💥.
Backed by Europe's best Venture Capital firms, this year will be vital in our growth as we look to further build out our team, further establish ourselves in our current markets, and expand our reach into multiple new markets 🔥. We are currently ranked in the top 10 startups in Spain by Linkedin, and we have successfully raised a Series A investment round of €27 million that will help propel our growth throughout Western Europe and bring us closer to reaching our goals🥇.
Our culture |
We honor diversity, compassion, and honesty above all else in our team. We’ve already got a great mix of dedicated, collaborative, and results-driven people and are looking for more like minded folks to join our team. In true startup fashion, we always embrace the unknown and grant full autonomy to our team members to act as the owners of their projects and tasks. We are creators who embrace dynamic environments and take on and build up projects from scratch.
Our team is composed of everyone from foodies to athletes, adventure seekers to art buffs. We know fun, and we always have a team event on our calendars, so are you ready to join us?
Role |
We're looking for a People Ops Specialist to join us on a temporary basis, and we need someone who can hit the ground running. You're a true generalist: equally comfortable running payroll, untangling a tricky termination, and building the HR process that didn't exist yesterday. You've done this in Spain and across the EU, you know the local nuances, and startup pace doesn't rattle you, if anything, you thrive in it. You're pragmatic, fast, and you connect the dots others miss. And just as important: you're a genuinely good colleague, the kind of person who helps teammates without being asked, stays approachable, and makes the people around them better.
Responsibilities |
- Payroll & contracts : Own the full cycle across our European entities. Coordinate with local advisors and ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. This is the foundation: it has to be airtight.
- HR processes & HRIS: Keep our people data clean and our processes consistent. You like things in order, automated where possible, and you'll improve what isn't working without needing to be asked.
- International employee relations reference: Be the first line on employment questions across our Intl. markets. You won't need to know everything, but you'll know enough to give solid guidance and assess when it’s required to involve legal counsel.
Requirements
- Immediate availability to start, and existing right to work in Spain/the EU (this is a temporary position with an urgent start date)
- Comfortable working in a high‑volume, fast‑paced startup environment.
- Employee Relations experience: You've handled terminations, investigations and conflict, in the EU.
- Understanding of Spanish social security processes and obligations, and working knowledge of equivalent frameworks in other EU countries.
- Hands-on with payroll and contracts across multiple entities or countries.
- A generalist mindset: you move easily between payroll, HRIS, ER, and ad hoc people ops needs.
- A great teammate: approachable, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping colleagues.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Professional proficiency in Spanish.
- Other European languages -such as Italian, French, or Portuguese- will be considered a plus.
Benefits
- Flexible remuneration plans ("Retribución flexible")
- Team buildings and office events
- Breakfast at the office, fruits, nutrition bars, free coffee/tea and popcorn
- International working environment
