CACI is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer, Senior to support facilities engineering, infrastructure modernization, and mission sustainment operations across the Indo-Pacific. The Mechanical Engineer, Senior serves as CACI's senior engineering professional responsible for planning, designing, assessing, and supporting mechanical systems that enable logistics, facilities, maintenance, mission support, and operational readiness. Reporting directly to the Facilities and Infrastructure Lead, this position provides technical expertise for the design, installation, sustainment, and modernization of mechanical infrastructure supporting warehouses, maintenance facilities, fuel systems, utilities, airfields, ports, command and control facilities, and expeditionary sites.

The Mechanical Engineer, Senior works closely with Government stakeholders, civil, electrical, and structural engineers, architects, construction contractors, facility managers, host nation representatives, and mission partners to develop reliable, resilient, and energy-efficient mechanical systems supporting Government mission requirements. This position contributes to successful program execution by delivering technically sound engineering solutions that enhance facility performance, infrastructure resilience, and operational readiness across geographically dispersed locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, and evaluate mechanical systems supporting Government facilities and infrastructure projects.

  • Develop engineering designs, calculations, specifications, drawings, and cost estimates for new construction, renovation, sustainment, and modernization projects.

  • Assess HVAC systems, plumbing systems, fuel distribution systems, fire protection systems, compressed air systems, and other mechanical infrastructure.

  • Conduct facility inspections, condition assessments, engineering surveys, and technical evaluations.

  • Prepare engineering reports, feasibility studies, lifecycle analyses, and technical recommendations.

  • Review construction drawings, contractor submittals, and engineering documentation for technical accuracy and compliance.

  • Support construction management activities, including field inspections, commissioning, acceptance testing, and quality assurance.

  • Coordinate engineering activities with Government personnel, subcontractors, utility providers, and host nation agencies.

  • Ensure mechanical system designs comply with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS), International Mechanical Code (IMC), International Plumbing Code (IPC), NFPA standards, OSHA requirements, and applicable environmental regulations.

  • Identify mechanical system deficiencies and recommend modernization strategies that improve facility reliability, efficiency, and mission readiness.

  • Support contingency engineering, emergency infrastructure restoration, and rapid facility assessments during emergent operations.

  • Maintain engineering documentation, as-built drawings, equipment records, and configuration management throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Develop preventive maintenance recommendations and lifecycle sustainment strategies for mechanical infrastructure.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and field personnel.

  • Promote engineering best practices, innovation, safety, and continuous process improvement across the program.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, facilities engineering, infrastructure design, construction management, or mechanical systems supporting Government, Department of Defense, or commercial infrastructure programs.

  • Experience supporting Department of Defense, Joint, Combatant Command, Service Component, or Special Operations organizations is preferred.

  • Experience designing, evaluating, or maintaining HVAC, plumbing, fuel, fire protection, utility, or industrial mechanical systems.

  • Experience supporting facility sustainment, modernization, construction, or infrastructure development projects.

  • Experience preparing engineering calculations, specifications, technical reports, and construction documentation.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering efforts while supporting project schedules, budgets, and operational requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability to present engineering recommendations and technical briefings to Government and program leadership.

Desired

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering is highly desirable.

  • Experience supporting overseas military installations, contingency engineering, expeditionary facilities, or infrastructure modernization projects.

  • Experience utilizing AutoCAD, Revit MEP, SolidWorks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, ArcGIS, and Microsoft 365 applications.

  • Knowledge of Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS), ASHRAE standards, International Mechanical Code (IMC), International Plumbing Code (IPC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, and applicable energy and environmental regulations.

  • Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Construction Quality Management (CQM), LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP), or equivalent engineering and construction certifications are preferred.

  • Experience supporting geographically dispersed Government programs involving OCONUS logistics, contingency operations, or Special Operations Forces is highly desirable.

  • Experience designing and sustaining mission-critical mechanical systems supporting logistics hubs, maintenance facilities, expeditionary infrastructure, and resilient facility operations is highly desirable
