As a Lead Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to make your mark on the future direction of our team. You will own the development lifecycle of critical back-end services, balancing hands-on technical contributions with team leadership. What will you do?

• Make hands-on code contributions to back-end applications within an Agile development team.

• Lead a team of 3-5 developers. Provide expert technical leadership and support the team in simplifying complex technical challenges.

• Encourage cross-functional collaboration and contribute to a high-performing team culture.

• Facilitate growth and continuous improvement through leading by example, mentorship and timely feedback.

• Experiment with emerging technologies and proof of concepts to help shape technical direction.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have:

• Strong, hands-on experience with building modern Java cloud applications (12 factor applications).

• Practical experience shipping various types of back-end applications (API, messaging, persistence, etc.) to production leveraging cloud native platforms (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)

• Proficiency with leading a team through the full development lifecycle, from design to code to production.

• Familiarity with various Agile delivery methodologies and SDLC optimization.

• Deep understanding of microservices architecture.

• 3-5+ years of industry experience in senior or lead-level development roles.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with applying emerging AI tools and techniques to generate production code.

• Experience with system monitoring, introspection and observability (Splunk, Dynatrace, ELK, etc.)

• Experience with event-driven architecture (Kafka, MQ).

• Experience with microservices and distributed systems design (load balancing, discovery, resiliency, backpressure, performance tradeoffs).

• Knowledge of the banking or financial services domain, especially money movement.
