Job Summary
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Accommodation Delivery
- Interprets for students, faculty, and staff who are d/Deaf or hard of hearing using American Sign Language and Signed English. Interprets for non-signing hearing students and faculty using spoken English.
- Prepares for classroom interpretation by reviewing textbooks, assignments, videos and other related material.
- Provides explanation of roles of interpreter and consumers to inexperienced users. Provides functional guidance to practicum students as they prepare to graduate from the College's interpreting education program
- Maintains confidentiality of student records and other confidential information.

*Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance is required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a minimum of an Associate Degree in Interpreting/Transliterating. One (1) year closely related experience. Proficiency in computer skills to interpret virtual classes, assignments.
- Ability to work towards National Certification.
- State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
- *An appropriate combination of education, training, coursework and experience may qualify a candidate.
Compensation: $24.86-$32
