The Full Stack Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, supporting, and enhancing Trade Operations applications, data pipelines, and cloud-based services that power the end-to-end Trade data lifecycle. This role combines software engineering, data engineering, cloud technologies, and operational support to ensure Trade data is processed accurately, securely, and efficiently from ingestion through product delivery.
The engineer will partner closely with Trade Operations Analysts and Technology teams to build scalable solutions, automate manual processes, improve data quality, modernize legacy platforms, and support strategic initiatives such as market onboarding, cloud migration, and AI-driven process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Application Development
Design, develop, and support Trade Operations web applications, portals, dashboards, and reporting solutions.
Develop and maintain REST APIs and backend services to support business workflows.
Build and manage data ingestion, transformation, and automation processes to improve operational efficiency.
Develop monitoring and alerting solutions for critical data processing and operational workflows.
Support applications hosted on AWS, including EC2, RDS (MariaDB/MySQL), and batch processing environments.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to applications, APIs, ETL processes, databases, and data ingestion.
Provide technical support to global Trade Operations teams and ensure SLA adherence.
Participate in cloud modernization initiatives and drive application scalability, reliability, and security.
Identify opportunities to improve performance, automate manual processes, enhance data quality, and reduce operational risk.
Maintain technical documentation and contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes.
Key Skills:
At least 6 years data engineering/software engineering experience
Degree in computer science or related field
Proficiency in SQL and at least skilled at one of the programming langauges in PHP/Python/Java
Experience with web development
Ability to utilize the network, applications, operating system monitoring and troubleshooting
Take ownership of existing applications for further development/improvements
Work closely with related groups to ensure business continuity
A self-motivated learner with strong customer focus and with quality
Logical with very strong problem solving skills
Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and database design
Experience with cloud service providers AWS/Azure/GCP.
Analytical skills and able to perform analysis on code bases to increase performance.
Strong team player with excellent listening and communication skills
Fluent English written and verbal
Results oriented, flexible with an enthusiastic approach
Ability to respond quickly to customer demands and market condition.
