Job Posting: Dispatcher - Contract
Availability: Full-time with the ability to work mornings, mid-shift, holidays, and weekends
Reporting to the Freight Manager, the Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating the shipping of orders from LUSH's distribution center. The role will be accountable for effectively communicating between internal and external stakeholders to ensure on-time dispatch and processing of orders while guaranteeing shipments adhere to LUSH's quality standards.

What you do (responsibilities): Dispatcher
- Schedule the daily shipment pick-ups from all carriers
- Prepare and ensure the quality and accuracy of all shipping documents
- Support and coordinate with Distribution operations in creating the daily dispatch plan
- Visually inspect shipments to ensure compliance with transportation regulations and customer expectations
- Facilitate the daily dispatch plan, highlight any delays, and provide alternative solutions
- Proactively communicate to customers and stakeholders about any changes, disruptions, and delays in the dispatch process
- Act as the primary contact for all transportation providers relating to shipment pick-up and dock scheduling
- Obtain spot quotes for special shipments when required
- Process and audit transportation invoices to confirm accurate billing
- Utilize dispatch schedules to manage and control the warehouse loading docks
- Guarantee on-time dispatch of daily shipments
- Conduct all interactions with customers and stakeholders in a professional manner
- Cultivate positive relationships and work collaboratively with other LUSH business units
- Ensure safe operations in the yard and dock area
- Direct vehicles to the appropriate loading docks
- When required, assist the Distribution teams with ad-hoc shipping inquiries
- Proactive in research and self-development to provide best-in-class knowledge with industry standards and trends
- Practice safe work and identify unsafe situations to the appropriate individuals
- Represent the ethics and culture of the Lush brand and follow all policies and procedures
- Occasional overtime and weekends are required
- Ensure shipments are compliant with the Operational SOPs (Sales Order Processing & Prepicks Processing).
- Respond to retail team inquiries related to product availability, shipments, and missed PLU swaps
- Work collaboratively with Distribution & Freight
Who you are (qualifications):
Required:
- Current LUSH employee
- Has held their current role successfully for one year
- At least one year of direct experience working in distribution operations
- Experienced in creating shipping documents such as BOLs and commercial invoices
- Proficient with MS Office Suite
- Experience with ERP/TMS/WMS
- Service-oriented with keen attention to detail and diligent in follow-up
- Self-directed and driven to achieve desired results
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive and resourceful when dealing with issues and challenges
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with others
- Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and dynamic environment
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred:
- College diploma or University degree in Business, Logistics, and/or Supply Chain
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods certified
- Knowledgeable in transportation laws and regulations
- At least one year of direct experience in freight/transportation
- Experience with all modes of transportation
- Experience working in a variety of rooms and departments within Lush
- A minimum of at least one year of dispatch experience
