Position Summary

The Director Production, Mexico is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational excellence, and successful execution of the Company's original content slate across Mexico and additional territories. This executive oversees all aspects of physical production from project inception through final delivery, ensuring productions are executed safely, efficiently, creatively, and within approved financial parameters.

Working in close partnership with Original Content, Director of Production establishes production strategy, operational governance, and best practices that support premium storytelling while protecting the Company's investment.

This role provides executive leadership across multiple concurrent productions, balancing creative ambition with operational discipline while fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement throughout the production life cycle.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Director of Production serves as the Company's senior production executive responsible for translating creative vision into successful production execution.

This role leads production strategy across Mexico’s content slate, ensuring every project is planned, staffed, financed, executed, and delivered in accordance with the Company's creative objectives, operational standards, financial expectations, and risk management framework.

Success in this position requires exceptional leadership, sound business judgment, strong financial acumen, and extensive experience managing complex productions across multiple territories.


Executive Responsibilities

I. Strategic Production Leadership

Provides strategic direction for all physical production activities across the regional content portfolio, ensuring alignment between creative objectives, operational execution, and business priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Establish the overall production strategy for the regional content slate.
  • Develop scalable production standards, workflows, and operational best practices.
  • Partner with Original Content leadership during project evaluation to assess production feasibility and execution strategies.
  • Guide productions from early development through final delivery, ensuring operational readiness at every stage.
  • Provide executive oversight across multiple concurrent productions while balancing creative priorities, financial objectives, and production resources.
  • Serve as the senior production advisor to executive leadership on all matters related to physical production.

 

II. Slate Leadership & Production Strategy

Responsible for providing executive oversight across the Company's production slate, ensuring each project is positioned for successful execution from development through final delivery.

Working in close partnership with Original Content leadership, this role evaluates production strategy, identifies operational opportunities and risks, allocates production resources, and ensures consistency across all productions within the portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive oversight across multiple scripted, unscripted, simultaneously.
  • Partner with Original Content leadership to evaluate projects during development and Greenlight to assess production feasibility, scale, complexity, and operational requirements.
  • Recommend production strategies that align creative objectives with business priorities.
  • Evaluate production readiness throughout each phase of the project life cycle.
  • Guide production teams through key production milestones and stage gates.
  • Identify production risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Balance production resources across multiple active projects.
  • Ensure consistency in production standards across the regional slate.

III. Physical Production Leadership

Establishes and maintains operational excellence throughout every phase of production, ensuring each project is executed with discipline, efficiency, and the highest production standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive oversight throughout pre-production, production, post-production, and final delivery.
  • Review and approve production plans, schedules, staffing strategies, and operational approaches.
  • Monitor production progress against approved plans and timelines.
  • Ensure productions maintain high operational standards while adapting to changing creative or business needs.
  • Partner with Production Executives to resolve complex operational challenges.
  • Support production companies in achieving production objectives while maintaining company standards.
  • Oversee production readiness reviews prior to key production milestones.
  • Drive consistency in production execution across all territories.
  • Promote best practices throughout the production organization.

IV. Financial Stewardship

Serves as the operational steward of the Company's production investment, partnering closely with Finance to ensure productions remain financially disciplined while supporting creative success.

This role is accountable for maintaining visibility into production financial performance throughout the project life cycle, enabling informed decision-making through accurate forecasting, cost management, and operational planning.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Finance throughout the production life cycle to support financial planning and production forecasting.
  • Review production budgets, budget assumptions, and funding strategies during project development and Greenlight.
  • Monitor production cost reports and forecast accuracy throughout production.
  • Identify financial risks and collaborate with Finance to develop mitigation strategies.
  • Evaluate production scenarios and operational impacts on budget performance.
  • Support the optimization of production incentives, rebates, and tax credit opportunities.
  • Review contingency utilization and recommend corrective actions when appropriate.
  • Ensure production decisions are informed by financial considerations while supporting creative objectives.
  • Maintain executive visibility into production financial performance across the regional slate.

 

V. Production Operations & Operational Excellence

Establishes the operational framework that enables productions to execute consistently, efficiently, and at scale across multiple territories.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain standardized production processes, tools, and operating procedures.
  • Establish production governance and reporting standards across all productions.
  • Promote consistency in production planning, scheduling, reporting, and communication.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and scalability.
  • Champion continuous improvement through lessons learned and production best practices.
  • Evaluate emerging production technologies and operational solutions that enhance production effectiveness.
  • Support organizational readiness for an expanding production slate.
