The Role

Aspen Technology is seeking experienced professionals to join our growing Product Quality Team as Senior Quality Engineer. In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust automation frameworks and tools that enable both functional and non-functional testing for next-generation Engineering, Manufacturing, and Asset Optimization solutions.
We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer with deep expertise in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Software Quality Assurance (SQA) principles to develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies that guarantee the quality, reliability, and performance of our industry-leading products.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Software Developers, Quality Engineers, and Project Managers, to drive continuous improvement and ensure the delivery of exceptional products to our customers.
This role is responsible for developing and maintaining automated scripts, as well as conducting performance benchmarking and scalability testing. Experience with SaaS performance testing is a plus.

Your Impact

• Design and document test procedures and objectives, including test environments, installation, upgrades and configuration, aligned with technical specifications.
• Develop Automated scripts for API, UI, system, integration and performance testing, including benchmarking and scalability.
• Maintain and execute test automation across UI, API and backend using tools such as PowerShell, Silk Test, Selenium and languages like C#, Java, Python.
• Design, maintain and execute performance, scalability and stress test using JMeter and VSTS.
• Develop and support tools for daily quality activities using PowerShell and Python.
• Ensure effective bi-directional communication between US and MXC development centers.

• Debug and refactor automation scripts, optimize test suites, and enhance test stability.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Optimize test processes and ensure alignment with evolving product objectives.

What You'll Need

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Chemical, Mechanical or related engineering fields.
• 4-8 years of experience in validating complex software testing projects.
• Proven ability to innovate and implement new testing strategies
• Strong Object-oriented programming skills (required)
• Demonstrate strong understanding of deployment infrastructures, virtualization technologies and cloud platforms (Paas/SaaS).
• Strong skills in debugging, refactoring, and improving automation frameworks.
• Flexibility to perform both automated and manual tests leveraging modern frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, PyTest or simliars).
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python or Java and familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript for modern frameworks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools (e.g., Azure Devops, GitHub Actions).
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and SAFe methodologies.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing and presentation skills..

Preferred Skills (Plus)

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
• Familiarity with Data Science and Artificial Intelligence techniques is a plus.
• Strong understanding of development infrastructures, virtualization technologies and cloud platforms (PaaS/SaaS).
