Act as software detectives, provide a dynamic service identifying and solving issues within multiple components of critical business systems.

We are looking for a Custom Software Engineer. The role involves the design and implementation of functional and technical requirements in Smalltalk VisualWorks within a complex legacy application environment.

Responsibilities

• Analysis and assessment of requirements with regard to technical complexity

• Effort estimation for individual work packages

• Development of features and execution of unit tests to ensure code quality

• Documentation of implemented changes in accordance with project standards

• Root cause analysis and resolution of defects

Requirements

• Primary: Proficiency in Smalltalk VisualWorks, ideally 3+ years of hands-on experience

• Strong understanding of object-oriented design and architecture (OOP/OOD)

• Experience working with legacy codebases and established system architectures

• Familiarity with unit testing frameworks (e.g. SUnit)

• Knowledge of version control and configuration management tools

• Database connectivity experience
