About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Operations Intern to join our Operational Risk & Governance team. This internship is ideal for a graduate or MBA student who wants hands-on exposure to operational risk, merchant onboarding governance, vendor risk management, compliance, and payment operations within a leading fintech environment.
You will work closely with Risk, Operations, Compliance, and Business teams to support governance initiatives, maintain operational trackers, prepare reports, and ensure smooth execution of risk and outsourcing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Risk Support
Assist in maintaining Operational Risk (ORM) trackers, risk registers, and governance documentation.
Support Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) activities by coordinating with cross-functional teams.
Track operational incidents, control gaps, and remediation status.
Help prepare SOPs, process documents, and policy version control records.
Compile Key Risk Indicator (KRI) data and assist in periodic risk reporting.
Merchant & Payment Operations
Support governance activities related to merchant onboarding and KYC documentation.
Assist in reviewing merchant data, PAN validation records, and onboarding quality checks.
Maintain operational dashboards for payment operations and exception tracking.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders for timely closure of operational requests.
Outsourcing & Vendor Governance
Maintain vendor onboarding and due diligence trackers.
Support documentation for vendor risk assessments and periodic reviews.
Track SLA performance and follow up on pending compliance documents.
Assist during internal audits and regulatory documentation requests.
Reporting & Analytics
Prepare Excel-based MIS, governance reports, and management presentations.
Analyze operational data to identify trends and process improvement opportunities.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of operational records and audit-ready documentation.
Preferred Candidate
Graduate or MBA (HR/Operations/Finance/Business) pursuing or recently completed.
Strong proficiency in Advanced Excel; PowerPoint knowledge is desirable.
Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
Interest in fintech, risk operations, compliance, or payment operations.
