Quality Assurance Engineer
Level: P1-P2
Responsibilities:
- Own QA activities for an assigned squad throughout the Software Development Life Cycle, including requirement analysis, test plan, test design, execution, defect management, and release support.
- Design and execute comprehensive exploratory, smoke, regression, end-to-end and user acceptance testing for new features and enhancements,
- Report, document and verify defects with clear reproduction steps and collaborate with engineers through resolution.
- Work closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers, Engineering Managers and other QA engineers to ensure high quality feature delivery.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies to provide quality focused feedback.
- Estimate testing effort, communicate testing progress, identify release risks and provide recommendations on release readiness.
- Prepare and maintain high quality test documentation, including test plan, test cases, regression coverage and execution reports.
- Collaborate with the automation team by creating automation-ready test cases, defining and validating automation coverage, and gradually contributing to automated test development within the scope of the squad while expanding technical knowledge.
- Continuously improve QA processes, documentation and testing practices within the squad.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance with strong focus on manual testing.
- Strong understanding of Software development Life cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and software testing methodologies.
- Experience performing exploratory, smoke, regression, end-to-end, API and user acceptance testing.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Experience creating and maintaining high quality test plans, test cases, test scripts and test documentation.
- Experience using project management and test management tools such as Linear, Jira, TestRail or similar platforms.
- Experience testing REST APIs using Postman or similar tools.
- Working knowledge of SQL for validating data and troubleshooting issues.
- Hands on experience using at least one programming language such as Ruby, Python, Java, Javascript, C# or similar.
- Understanding of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, REST APIs, browser developer tools and basic debugging techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to identify risks, edge cases and gaps in requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to contribute effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and willingness to continuously learn new technologies, testing approaches, and automation.
- Fluent spoken English
Bonus Points:
- Experience with Ruby and Ruby testing ecosystem.
- Experience using Linear Tracker.
- Exposure to compliance standards such as PCI and HIPAA.
- Familiarity with the FHIR standard.
- Experience in designing scalable, maintainable test cases and automation frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar frameworks.
Base salary is one component of total compensation. Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus or commission. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.
The amount below represents the expected annual base compensation range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider many factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
