About the Role
We are looking for a qualified Accountant or Part Qualified Assistant Accountant to support Billing Operations through strong analysis, reporting, and commercial insight.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with the business, understanding how projects are structured and delivered, and ensuring projects are administered accurately and efficiently. Your role will be a senior role within the team and will include managing complex projects, a high level of understanding of budgets and revenue recognition, and mentoring the team.
The role has a strong financial focus and suits an Accountant or Assistant Accountant who enjoys the challenges of complex contracts and their financial construct.
What You'll Do
As a Project Billing Specialist, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Project administration
- Project billing
- Project financials: budgets, billing rules, revenue recognition rules, work in progress (WIP), and deferred revenue
- Reviewing project setup in SuiteProjects Pro to ensure project information supports accurate revenue and margin reporting
- Identifying and investigating project setup or data issues that may impact reporting quality or commercial outcomes
- Supporting the Team Manager and Team Leads with financial acumen
- Working collaboratively with the Project, Process & Reporting Analyst, Revenue Team, Finance, and business stakeholders
- Contributing to improvements in reporting, data quality, and analytical processes
- Supporting ad hoc analysis and reporting requests as required
What You'll Bring
As Project Billing Specialist, you will be expected to demonstrate:
- CA or CPA qualification is highly desirable
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Two years' experience in an accounting or finance role, ideally within a project-based environment
- Experience working with ERP and project accounting systems, such as NetSuite, SuiteProjects Pro, or similar
- Strong analytical skills and an interest in understanding how financial results connect to operational activity
- High attention to detail and a focus on producing accurate, reliable information
- Confidence working with non-finance stakeholders and explaining financial outcomes clearly
- Strong Excel and systems capability
