Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for a candidate for a position "Network and Telecom Engineer " in the European Operations Center (EUOPC) in Ostrava. In this position, you will design, configure and troubleshoot IT and Telecom network part of ABB control systems on international projects. The work model for the role is: hybrid
This role is contributing to the team of Network Engineers in EUOPC
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Design and architecture IT / Telecom networks based on ABB rules and reference architecture following ABB cyber security rules
- Configuration of network elements in project networks like switches, firewalls, routers, CCTV, Telephony, PAGA, etc.
- Testing and commissioning of complex IT networks on the projects & troubleshooting of IT networks / Telecom
- Work trips abroad ~ 30%
Qualifications for the role
- You have an university education in electrical engineering, IT or similar - must have
- You have knowledge of computer networks - configuration of network elements
- You are proactive, communicative and able to work independently
- It is an advatitage if: if you are familiar with the Windows/Linux environment (server administration, AD, DNS, GPO), you have a knowledge about Voice / VOIP, Fiber solutions, CCTV, PAGA, RACAN and you are certified CCNA or similar
- You are at ease communicating in English language
- You hold currently valid VISA/work permit for the Czech Republic
