We are looking for a Java Developer to join an NZ-based project, working closely with onshore stakeholders. The role requires strong technical capability in Java technologies along with excellent communication skills to support remote collaboration.

Job Description

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java technologies
• Work on enterprise-level systems using Java EE / Core Java frameworks
• Develop and optimize database queries, stored procedures, and functions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including onshore stakeholders
• Ensure code quality, maintainability, and performance
• Participate in debugging, troubleshooting, and enhancing existing systems

Job Requirements

Must‑Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Java Development

• Strong knowledge of:
  • Java / Core Java
  • Java EE technologies: EJB, JSP, JPA
  • Framework: Spring
• Hands-on experience with Relational Databases, preferably:
  • Oracle (preferred)
  • MySQL or equivalent is acceptable
• Strong experience in writing:
  • SQL queries
  • Stored procedures / functions
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments
• Good English communication skills (mandatory) – able to work directly with onsite teams

Nice‑to‑Have

• Experience with Enterprise Java (e.g., WebLogic)
• Full-stack exposure (not mandatory), such as Vue.js / React.js / Angular
• Basic understanding of DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins)
