There are two Chevron companies operating in the Philippines: Chevron Holdings Incorporated (CHI) and Chevron Philippines Incorporated (CPI).
CHI is a shared services center providing transactional, processing, and consulting services in the areas of finance and accounting, information technology, supply chain management, human resources, downstream customer service and marketing. About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Workday Application Engineer - Workforce Management to join Chevron's HR Digital Platform organization in Makati City, Philippines.
This role is responsible for the end-to-end support, configuration, enhancement, integration, and operational excellence of Chevron's global Workforce Management solutions. The position combines deep Workday functional expertise with technical application support, systems integration, automation, and continuous improvement responsibilities.
As a key member of an Agile DevOps team, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor and subject matter expert for Workday Time & Leave, HCM, and related Workforce Management capabilities. You will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, software engineers, vendors, and support teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure solutions that support Chevron operations globally.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring system reliability, payroll accuracy, regulatory compliance, workforce productivity, and exceptional user experience across Chevron's workforce management ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
Workforce Management & Workday Expertise
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Workday Time & Leave, HCM, and one or more of the following areas: Payroll Integrations Security Data Conversion Time Tracking Absence Management Talent Management
Develop deep domain expertise by understanding Chevron workforce management, payroll, and HR business processes.
Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into scalable and supportable solutions.
Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, compliance, and operational standards.
Application Support & Operations
Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for Workday and related Workforce Management applications.
Serve as a primary escalation point for application-related incidents and production issues.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
Monitor application performance, integrations, interfaces, and data loads to ensure operational continuity.
Partner with vendors and support teams to identify and resolve complex production problems.
Maintain high levels of system availability, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
Configuration, Enhancement & Maintenance
Configure, customize, and maintain Workday and vendor-provided enterprise applications.
Implement configuration changes, small enhancements, and automation solutions to improve business processes and user experience.
Update existing code and configurations to address defects and implement approved enhancements.
Support application lifecycle activities including implementation, operations, maintenance, upgrades, and retirement.
Identify opportunities to improve support processes, monitoring capabilities, and operational efficiency.
Integrations & Technical Solutions
Design, support, and troubleshoot integrations between Workday and other enterprise platforms.
Support technologies such as: Workday Studio EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder) Core Connectors PICOF / PECI Workday Web Services REST and SOAP APIs
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure secure and reliable integration patterns.
Monitor interface activity and resolve data integration issues impacting business operations.
Testing & Deployment Support
Participate in software development lifecycle activities including: Requirements validation Functional testing Regression testing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Production deployment support
Ensure release readiness and production stability for application changes.
Support change management activities and implementation planning.
Security, Compliance & Governance
Administer application security and role-based access as required.
Maintain compliance with Chevron policies, information protection standards, and software governance requirements.
Ensure proper documentation, controls, and audit readiness.
Support cybersecurity and enterprise risk management processes.
Reporting & Analytics
Develop and support reports, dashboards, and operational metrics.
Generate insights that enable: Workforce planning Performance monitoring Operational decision-making Business process improvements
Monitor key operational indicators and recommend improvement opportunities.
Documentation & Knowledge Management
Develop and maintain: Support documentation Runbooks Operating procedures Knowledge articles technical specifications
Maintain support frameworks, escalation processes, and operational ownership documentation.
