Purpose

To provide support to the department by creating outreach materials, maintaining a shared events calendar, and assisting with coordination for professional development event and engagement activities. This role helps raise visibility of department research and academic activities.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and design outreach materials for seminars, events, programs, and announcements

  • Maintain a shared event calendar; research and monitor relevant department events.

  • Assist with the logistics and setup of in-person and virtual events, including seminars, recruitment sessions, and meetings.

  • Format slides, signage, flyers, and other promotional assets.

  • Help with event logistics such as room reservations, catering orders, materials prep, and event breakdown.

  • Other event or administrative duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Interest in event promotion, event coordination, or communications.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Strong, independent, and collaborative work ethic.

  • Current UT Austin student, enrolled/registered with fees paid for the current semester and in good academic standing.

  • Financial aid work-study recipient.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with UT Austin's communication channels and event spaces.

Salary Range

$15.00 Hourly

Working Conditions

  • May work around standard office conditions

  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation

  • Use of manual dexterity

  • Light lifting and moving

Work Shift

  • Must be available to work 10-15 hours per week.

  • Flexible work hours between Monday through Friday 8am-5pm, based on students' class schedule.
