This role builds and executes an integrated commercial strategy that drives group, wholesale, conference, wedding, and private event revenue; grows brand presence and guest loyalty; and ensures flawless execution of both public resort programming and private events. This role will partner closely with the Resort President, Revenue Management, Lodging, Food & Beverage, and Operations to maximize revenue and deliver a best-in-class guest experience across every touchpoint.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic & Organizational Leadership

  • Own an integrated commercial strategy across sales, marketing, and events that drives revenue, brand presence, and guest satisfaction in alignment with resort business goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and hold accountable the Director of Sales, Banquets & Private Events Manager, and marketing/guest experience teams, including goal-setting, budgeting, and performance management.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the Resort President, Senior Leadership Team, Operations, and Finance to maximize revenue and guest experience.
  • Partner with Revenue Management as a peer function on pricing and demand strategy; this role does not have direct authority over Revenue Management but coordinates closely to align sales, marketing, and pricing decisions.

Sales & Revenue Generation

  • Set sales strategy and own budgets/revenue targets across group, wholesale, conference, wedding, and private event business, including oversight of Central Reservations.
  • Direct the sales team's account management and new business development, and represent the resort in the market through industry, community, and trade relationships.
  • Oversee the sales team's incentive/commission structure.

Marketing, Brand & Communications

  • Oversee marketing, brand, digital, and CRM strategy to build brand presence and guest loyalty across all channels.
  • Lead public relations, sponsorships, and internal/external communications, including crisis communications readiness and serving as spokesperson when appropriate.
  • Track digital and e-commerce performance — including pass/lift ticket sales, web conversion, and social engagement — alongside traditional sales KPIs to guide investment across channels.

Events & Guest Experience

  • Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of both public events and on-mountain programming (festivals, activations, and guest experiences) and private events and weddings, ensuring flawless execution from concept or consultation through event day, in partnership with the Banquets & Private Events Manager.
  • Align sales, marketing, and events teams on pricing, proposals, and promotion to maximize public and private event bookings.
  • Design and oversee guest experience initiatives across all events, using guest feedback and KPIs to continually improve satisfaction and loyalty.

Financial & Operational Management

  • Develop and manage division budgets, and deliver sales, marketing, and event performance reporting to support forecasting and goal setting.
  • Ensure effective use of core systems (Delphi/Salesforce, InfoGenesis, Workday, UKG) across the division.

JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 10 years of senior-level leadership experience across sales, marketing, or guest experience, preferably within hospitality, ski, travel, or resort sectors, including 3+ years of supervisory/managerial experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Hospitality Management, related field, or equivalate experience; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record building and executing integrated sales, marketing, and events strategies that drive measurable revenue growth.
  • Deep understanding of ski/resort culture and guest expectations; intermediate skiing/snowboarding ability required, advanced/expert level preferred.
  • Expertise in digital marketing, CRM architecture, brand management, and event/wedding sales, paired with strong data-driven decision-making.
  • Proficiency with Delphi/Salesforce and MS Office/Excel; familiarity with Inntopia, Springer-Miller System, RTP, InfoGenesis, Workday, and UKG a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with comfort serving as a public-facing representative of the resort.
  • Ability to work outdoors in winter and summer conditions, work evenings/weekends/holidays as needed, and travel out-of-state to support sales, marketing, and events activity.

Preferred Attributes

  • History of developing loyalty programs, driving retention, and growing guest spend through integrated campaigns.
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to inspire and align diverse teams toward common goals.
