We are looking for a Verification Specialist to act as an extension of our team, verifying employment, education, professional references, and license status for job applicants on behalf of our clients.

This is a remote, phone-heavy role. You will make outbound calls, answer inbound calls, research and email schools, businesses, and professional organizations, and meet team productivity and accuracy standards. It suits a problem solver who works well independently, learns new systems quickly, and communicates clearly. The schedule has no nights or weekends, paid holidays, paid time off from day one, paid insurance premiums, ongoing training, career pathing, and a team-focused remote culture.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Make daily outbound calls to verify education, employment, and references provided by job applicants
• Review and complete verification requests ordered by clients
• Research to determine next steps for verifying information
• Conduct internet research to verify education and employment information
• Email businesses, schools, and professional organizations to verify applicant information
• Interview professional references to assess applicants' previous work history
• Answer inbound calls on a multi-line phone system for the Verifications Department
• Meet team productivity and accuracy standards
• Handle Verifications team administrative tasks, including file triage, mass texting/emailing, and monitoring the group inbox
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1+ year of experience in an office setting
• At least 1 year of experience in U.S. domestic background screening
• Strong phone presence with a professional demeanor
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adjust communication style to the audience
• Working knowledge of G-Suite and Microsoft Office products
• Ability to navigate multiple windows/browsers with ease and perform extensive internet research
• Typing speed of 45 WPM
• Ability to learn new software quickly and use systems accurately
• Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Problem-solving mindset focused on creating solutions
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to sit and be on the phone for extended periods
