Job Description:

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated TMS System Team Lead who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The position is based Brisbane, Australia.

You will be accountable for documenting and communicating solutions to existing and new Rail clients as part of a greater development team. You will also elicit requirements from clients for feedback to R&D and propose possible novel integrations of our solutions within existing client infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand stakeholders' business process

• Capture stakeholders' needs accurately

• Transform business requirements into technical requirements

• Document system and software requirements

• Understand different levels of integration

• Understand the challenges of maintaining a consistent global state

• Describe different types of integration patterns

• Identify and avoid some of the pitfalls of integrating legacy systems

Key Requirements:

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related discipline.

• Relevant rail industry certifications (highly desirable).

Experience

• Demonstrated experience in railway signalling systems, particularly Operational systems.

• Experience with ETCS, CBTC, or similar train control systems.

• Experience in system integration, testing, and commissioning.

• Experience with complex systems and especially software intensive complex systems.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of signalling principles and train control systems.

• Knowledge of railway safety standards and lifecycle processes.

• Experience with system integration activities (lab integration set to work, V&V).

• Experience with software development and design tools.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and fast-paced project environment.

• High attention to detail and commitment to safety.

• Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when required.
