Test Engineer – NPI Development [Hybrid]

Job Summary

The Test Engineer supports New Product Introduction (NPI) by developing and deploying test solutions for advanced semiconductor products. This role is ideal for experience engineers who are interested in working on cutting‑edge automotive microcontroller and processor technologies within a global R&D environment.
The Test Engineer contributes across the full test development lifecycle—from pre‑silicon planning and simulation through post‑silicon validation to mass production release.

Key Responsibilities

New Product Introduction (NPI) Test Development

  • Support test development activities for new products from concept through mass production
  • Participate in test planning aligned with product requirements, quality targets, and manufacturing readiness
  • Support smooth handover of test solutions from development to high‑volume manufacturing

Pre‑Silicon Test Development

  • Perform pre‑silicon virtual tester simulations using RTL and GLS
  • Support emulation and early test coverage evaluation using industry‑standard tools
  • Collaborate with design and verification teams to identify test requirements and risks early in the development phase

Post‑Silicon & ATE Development

  • Develop and debug test programs on Automated Test Equipment (ATE) for post‑silicon validation, characterization, and qualification
  • Support manufacturing release by ensuring test robustness, coverage, and efficiency
  • Work on industry‑leading ATE platforms such as Teradyne and Advantest

Design‑for‑Test (DFT) & Methodology Improvement

  • Contribute to Design‑for‑Test (DFT) requirements and test strategy enhancements
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for test methodology, automation, and efficiency, including AI‑assisted solutions

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Design, Product, Validation, and Manufacturing teams across global sites
  • Support issue debug, root cause analysis, and corrective actions during validation and production ramp‑up
  • Communicate test status, risks, and results clearly to stakeholders

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain test documentation including test plans, simulations, test reports, and release status
  • Analyze test data and summarize results to support engineering decisions

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
  • Fresh graduates or engineers of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong fundamentals in circuits, semiconductors, and microcontrollers
  • Basic programming or scripting knowledge (C/C++, Python, Perl, or similar)
  • Good analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a global, cross‑functional team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship, project, or academic exposure to IC testing, RTL, verification, or DFT
  • Familiarity with automated test systems, silicon validation, or characterization activities
  • Awareness of automotive‑grade quality and reliability requirements

Personal Attributes

  • Curious mindset with strong interest in semiconductor test and validation
  • Eager to learn and grow in a technical R&D role
  • Detail‑oriented and systematic in problem analysis
  • Proactive, collaborative, and adaptable in a fast‑paced NPI environment

Career Growth

This role provides strong foundations in semiconductor test engineering and NPI execution, with opportunities to grow into Senior Test Engineer, Test Architect, or technical specialist roles within global R&D and manufacturing organizations.
