Sandvik has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Support Manager to join our Rotary Drilling Division in Alachua, Florida.

Your Mission

The Technical Support Manager leads a team of Technical Support Specialists responsible for resolving complex technical issues affecting Rotary Blasthole Drills globally and driving continuous product improvement. This role serves as the bridge between field operations and the factory, ensuring customer feedback is translated into effective solutions, product enhancements, and successful deployment of new technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Technical Support Specialists.
• Support customers through Sales Area teams by resolving complex technical issues involving Rotary Blasthole Drills.
• Gather and analyze field feedback to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
• Drive corrective actions and product enhancements through the Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) process.
• Partner with Product Development & Product Management, Supply Chain, Technical Services, and Sales Areas to resolve technical issues and implement product improvements.
• Support the introduction, delivery, and commissioning of new products and technologies.
• Support Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and Field Acceptance Testing (FAT) activities for new products.
• Provide technical guidance and support to internal stakeholders and assist with technical document reviews.
• Review and approve technical bulletins prior to release.
• Conduct root cause investigations and support implementation of corrective actions.
• Promote compliance with Sandvik's Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001) and Environmental, Health, and Safety standards.
• Participate in incident investigations and foster a proactive culture focused on safety and continuous improvement.

Your Profile

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams and multiple priorities.
• Strong electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical troubleshooting skills, with experience supporting, diagnosing, commissioning, or maintaining heavy mobile equipment in mining, construction, or industrial environments.
• Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving capabilities.
• Effective project management, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and technical data analysis tools.
• Experience working with safe work practices related to equipment operation, maintenance, and repair.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with rotary drilling equipment and surface mining operations.
• Practical experience in assembly, repair, and maintenance of mining equipment.
• Understanding of drilling techniques and operational challenges in mining environments.
• Experience supporting new product development, commissioning, or field-testing programs.
• MSHA Surface Mining Certification.

Additional Requirements

• Valid U.S. Driver's License.
• Valid Passport and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
