About your role:

Technical Program Manager, you will lead teams that build and evolve modern data platforms supporting scalable, reliable, and high-quality data movement across the enterprise. You will work with architects, engineering teams, and senior stakeholders to deliver data platform migrations, strengthen operational execution, and improve delivery outcomes. Your work will help modernize data capabilities, improve platform reliability, and enable trusted data services at scale.

What you'll do:

  • Lead and develop a team of 6 to 10 data engineers by setting priorities, coaching performance, and building technical and delivery capabilities across the team.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of data engineering initiatives, including planning, execution, quality, risk management, and operational readiness for large-scale programs.
  • Guide the design and implementation of modern data platform capabilities using technologies such as Kafka, ZeroETL, Apache Iceberg, and related ingestion and storage patterns.
  • Partner with architects and engineering teams to support enterprise data platform migrations, ensuring scalability, performance, and delivery consistency across complex environments.
  • Establish delivery governance, sprint execution, dependency management, and technical coordination across cross-functional teams involved in platform modernization.
  • Communicate delivery progress, risks, dependencies, and strategic priorities to senior stakeholders, including Vice President-level leaders, in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Drive platform reliability, engineering standards, and repeatable development practices that improve quality, maintainability, and operational efficiency.
  • Support resource planning, talent development, and team growth while aligning engineering execution to business and platform priorities.
  • Promote collaboration across engineering, architecture, and product teams to resolve technical blockers and maintain delivery momentum.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across data engineering processes, migration practices, and platform governance.

Experience you'll need to have:

  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data platform engineering, or related technical roles supporting modern enterprise data environments.
  • 8+ years of experience working with technologies such as Kafka, ZeroETL, Apache Iceberg, or similar streaming, ingestion, and table format capabilities used in modern data platforms.
  • 8+ years of experience leading end-to-end delivery of complex data engineering or platform migration initiatives in enterprise environments.
  • 3+ years of experience managing and developing teams, including responsibility for coaching, performance management, and team execution outcomes.
  • Experience leading large-scale data platform migrations and modernization programs with measurable delivery, quality, and operational outcomes.
  • Experience communicating with senior stakeholders, including Vice President-level leaders, on delivery status, technical risks, milestones, and strategic priorities.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.

Experience that would be great to have:

  • Experience with modern cloud data platforms, streaming ecosystems, and scalable storage architectures.
  • Experience in financial services, payments, or regulated data environments.
  • Experience driving engineering process improvements, team scaling, and delivery governance in matrixed organizations.
  • Experience partnering with architecture and product teams on enterprise modernization strategies.

How you'll work:

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
