In this role, you will lead talent acquisition with a strong focus on building effective hiring plans, strengthening recruitment standards, and partnering closely with leaders across the business. You will have the chance to influence how hiring is approached, improve the scalability of the TA function, and contribute directly to the quality and speed of hiring across a broad range of roles.
Responsibilities
- Lead and drive end-to-end talent acquisition strategy aligned with business growth and workforce planning.
- Partner with HR and business leaders to translate current and future hiring needs into effective recruitment plans.
- Set recruitment priorities, sourcing strategies, hiring timelines, and quality-of-hire expectations.
- Continuously improve recruitment practices, tools, processes, and standards to build a scalable talent acquisition function.
- Coach and guide junior recruiters or talent acquisition team members to strengthen sourcing, candidate management, and execution.
- Personally manage critical, senior, and specialist hiring with targeted sourcing and strong market insight.
- Own the full hiring cycle from intake, job profiling, and sourcing through screening, interviews, offer negotiation, and onboarding handoff.
- Manage hiring across engineering, project, finance, sales, corporate, and leadership roles.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for recurring and future-critical positions.
- Partner closely with hiring managers to define clear hiring criteria and refine role requirements where needed.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of talent acquisition or recruitment experience across both technical and non-technical hiring.
- Proven experience managing senior, specialist, or critical hiring through proactive sourcing and direct search.
- Experience leading, mentoring, or guiding recruiters or junior talent acquisition team members.
- Strong hands-on sourcing experience across LinkedIn, JobStreet, referrals, direct outreach, networking, and other talent channels.
- Experience using ATS or HRMS platforms.
- Strong understanding of Malaysian employment practices and local hiring norms.
- Experience managing the end-to-end recruitment process independently across multiple requisitions.
- Track record of partnering with and influencing hiring managers, including constructively challenging hiring requirements when needed.
- Strong candidate engagement and negotiation skills throughout the hiring process.
- Eligibility to work in Malaysia.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in renewable energy, utilities, infrastructure, engineering, construction, or other technical industries.
- Experience implementing or improving an ATS, HRMS, or recruitment process.
- Ability to translate recruitment data into actionable improvements.
- Experience managing recruitment agencies and external search firms.
