Support Worker – Homelessness

Alice Springs, NT Full-time,

Permanent, SCHADS Level 3

Why this role matters

The Alice Springs Hub is a place where people come to feel safe, respected and welcomed without judgement. Many who visit are navigating homelessness, financial hardship, substance use, mental health challenges or deep social disconnection. Your presence helps create a space where people can pause, breathe and reconnect with a sense of dignity. Every conversation, every moment of support and every act of kindness that contributes to someone feeling valued, seen and empowered.

About the role

As a Support Worker, you will be part of the daily rhythm of the Hub. You will greet participants with warmth, offer practical support and help them connect with services that can make a genuine difference in their lives. Working alongside Case Managers, you will provide brief interventions, one on one support and simple activities that build routine, wellbeing and social connection.

You will also help keep the Hub running smoothly by assisting with light meals, maintaining a clean and respectful environment and contributing to a space where people feel safe, calm and supported.

A key part of this role is relationship building, especially with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members who may have experienced trauma, institutionalisation or long periods of disconnection.
