About this Supervisor Production role at Tyson Foods

SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for maintaining high production, quality, and yields while ensuring the safest working environment possible.
The role requires:
- An essential understanding and control of the production process
- Accurate record keeping
- General line maintenance and staffing
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations
- Check daily production orders to ensure fulfillment of customer orders
- Ensure every position is filled before start-up of the production line
- Ensure all machinery is performing to the highest standard possible
- Oversee various processing operations
- Work with other supervisors to solve operational issues
Team Member Oversight
- Oversee Team Member morning exercises and job rotation in order to facilitate ergonomics
- Provide encouragement to Team Members in order to build the best team possible
- Perform critical human relations functions such as: Training Retaining Counseling on personal and professional problems
- Communicate company benefits and compensation policies to Team Members
Food Safety & Quality
- Ensure all workstations have passed USDA Inspection
- Provide continuous education on the importance of quality
- Keep records of reworked or returned product
Safety
- Promote safety on a daily basis
- Support safety initiatives through monthly safety meetings
Inventory & Shipping
- Ensure accurate shipments
- Ensure proper inventory rotation
- Ensure proper coding of products
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other responsibilities as the need arises
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High school diploma; education beyond high school including special training, vocational school and/or college courses is preferred.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills helpful.
Communication Skills: Strong communication skills.
Supervisory: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.
Travel: 1-5 trips per year.
