Purpose

The McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin is a top-ranked business school with an undergraduate population of 5,000 students. The BBA Student Life team is a unit within the BBA Program Office, who is responsible for supporting students through their academic journey in the BBA program.The BBA Student Life team is responsible for contributing to the co-curricular experience for the undergraduate students in the McCombs School of Business.


The Student Program Coordinator, BBA Student Life leads the McCombs Leadership Academy and related leadership programming, managing participant recruitment, program facilitation, and corporate and institutional partnerships. This role also advises 20+ student organizations on policy and leadership development, supports the Assistant Director in executing large-scale BBA events like Commencement and the Awards Ceremony, and coordinates student-led initiatives such as the Undergraduate Case Competition. Additionally, the position advises Freshman Launch to support first-year BBA students' transition and development.


Responsibilities


Leadership Development Programming

  • Lead the development and execution of the McCombs Leadership Academy and additional leadership education programming (ex: leadership conferences, workshops, etc.) for BBA students including the recruitment of participants, facilitation of the program, and development of corporate and institutional partnerships.

Student Organization Support

  •  Support the operations of the McCombs Student Organization program by advising 20+ student organizations on policy, programming, and leadership development. Assist with training student leaders on leadership, university policies, and effective programming strategies.

Event Planning & Management

  • Support the Assistant Director in planning and execution of large-scale BBA Program office events (ex: McCombs Awards Ceremony, BBA Study Break, Commencement, Gone to Business, etc.). Coordinate and advise on student-led events (ex: McCombs Undergraduate Case Competition, student leadership awards, etc.).

Sponsored Student Organization Advising

  • Advise Freshman Launch, a BBA sponsored student organization, in the development and execution of programming to support the development of first year students in the BBA program.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years’ experience coordinating leadership education programming, managing events, and student affairs programs
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and to collaborate within a team
  • Excellent written, oral communication and past experience giving successful presentations
  • Ability to organize and prioritize a constant workload of multiple tasks
  • Excellent problem-solving skills as well as accuracy and attention to detail
  • Flexible and adaptable to change

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in higher education administration or similar field and two years’ experience in a higher education setting
  • Experience coordinating leadership education programming
  • Experience teaching or training, developing, or advising students
  • Experience with event management and execution

Salary Range

$50,000


Working Conditions

  • Works in a standard office environment with repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
  • Occasionally lifts/moves boxes & other materials weighing up to 30 pounds
  • Work shift is Monday - Friday, 8am – 5pm. Some evening and weekend hours may be required during peak periods and special events.
  • This is an Austin, TX-based position
