Standards Designer, AI Workflows

Team

Customer Experience (CX) Content and Design Enablement (CDE)

Why join

Does the idea of solving complex problems by fusing UX methodologies and design thinking excite you?

Your interest in challenging ideas, making the complex simple, and your passion for co-creating solutions with customers, colleagues, and business leaders will set you up for success.

At OCBC Group Customer Experience (GCX), you will work at the intersection of design, strategy, and innovation, transforming complex banking journeys into intuitive, human-centred solutions. Join a multi-disciplinary team recognised for design excellence, where your ideas directly influence how customers experience OCBC across channels and touchpoints.

How you succeed

As a Standards Designer, AI Workflows, you bring solid design and design system craft as your foundation, then apply that foundation to how design work gets done, including, increasingly, where AI-assisted tools and workflows can help. Strong fundamentals come first; speed and automation follow from applying them well.

You are part of the Content & Design Enablement team within GCX, contributing to components, patterns, and workflow quality across platforms within the OCBC Group. A growing aspect of the role involves piloting and building AI-assisted workflows, including agentic approaches that carry out multi-step tasks under oversight, helping the wider design and content team move faster without compromising quality or consistency.

Some of the work is hands-on and technical, including writing scripts, working with prototypes, and understanding deployment and version control well enough to collaborate credibly alongside engineering teams. Unlike a governance or systems maintenance role, this is a build-it-yourself role that operates within the realities of a regulated banking environment.

Through your work, you strengthen how teams design and build, grounded in strong craft and applying AI-assisted methods where they can deliver measurable value.

What you do

  • Contribute to design language system standards, components, and documentation, applying strong design craft and technical fundamentals as the foundation of the role.
  • Review and take responsibility for the quality of AI-assisted output. Structure inputs and context so tools produce consistent, reviewable results. Understand where these tools tend to fail and treat non-deterministic output as something that always requires human review.
  • Ensure confidential or customer data is never entered into unapproved tools. Understand what AI use is and is not permitted within the organisation, and escalate governance questions appropriately.
  • Build and maintain small internal tools, scripts, templates, and automations that support design and content workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency through thoughtful application of AI-assisted approaches while maintaining quality, accessibility, governance, and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with designers, content designers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to scale effective practices across the organisation.

Requirements

  • Strong grounding in design systems, product design, content design, design operations, design engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Curious and hands-on with AI-assisted design tools, including generative AI, prototyping AI, and workflow automation, applying them on top of strong design fundamentals.
  • Able to translate technical and AI-related concepts into clear, plain language for designers, content designers, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Curious and experimental by nature. This is a forward-looking role with significant opportunity for exploration and innovation, while operating within the practical constraints of a regulated banking environment.
  • Detail-oriented with regard to governance, data handling, and compliance requirements. Able to critically review AI-assisted output for quality, reliability, and appropriateness, beyond simply using the tools that generate it.
  • Portfolio and case studies that demonstrate workflow-focused design, prototyping, systems thinking, or technical problem-solving. Code samples, shipped design system components, token pipelines, internal tooling, or automation work are welcome, including experience from adjacent disciplines such as design operations, front-end development, design engineering, or product design.
  • Comfortable working with version control, scripting, and lightweight technical implementation. This role does not own production application code.

Nice to have

  • Ability to take a prototype to a level of fidelity that a development team can confidently extend and implement.
  • Strong product thinking, particularly when packaging and rolling out a workflow, tool, or capability beyond a one-off solution.
  • Interest in structuring design system documentation so AI tools and agents can consume it effectively, including considerations around context limits, information architecture, prompt design, and output quality.
  • Exposure to design token pipelines, component libraries, developer handoff practices, or workflow automation platforms.

What we offer:

Competitive base salary. A suite of holistic, flexible benefits to suit every lifestyle. Community initiatives. Industry-leading learning and professional development opportunities. Your wellbeing, growth and aspirations are every bit as cared for as the needs of our customers.
