Company Profile:

In the summer of 2021, Repsol expanded its renewables operations to the U.S. through the acquisition of a large U.S.-based PV solar and battery storage project developer. This transaction was Repsol's first foray into the U.S. renewables market. In 2024, Repsol made another strategic acquisition of ConnectGen from Quantum Capital Group. Repsol Renewables Services North America ("RRSNA") is targeting to own and operate 3-4 GW of renewable capacity in North America by 2027.

We are looking for a motivated, dynamic, personable, and professional Solar O&M Field Services Intern for our summer program to join our Operations & Maintenance team.

This is a twelve (12) week program starting May 17, 2027 – August 6, 2027, based in Houston, Texas, with travel to operating solar project sites throughout North America.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Operations & Maintenance team in the safe and reliable operation of utility-scale solar facilities.
  • Assist field technicians and site managers with routine inspections, preventative maintenance activities, and corrective maintenance efforts.
  • Participate in equipment troubleshooting and performance evaluations for solar modules, inverters, trackers, combiner boxes, and related electrical equipment.
  • Collect, analyze, and document field performance data to support operational and reliability initiatives.
  • Assist with identifying equipment deficiencies and opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Support site audits, safety inspections, and maintenance documentation efforts.
  • Review maintenance records and work orders and assist with tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Participate in root cause analysis activities for equipment failures and operational issues.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Asset Management teams to support plant performance optimization.
  • Assist with the preparation of operational reports, maintenance summaries, and project updates.
  • Support contractor oversight activities and observe field maintenance practices to ensure compliance with company standards and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to site operations and maintenance activities.
  • Present internship project findings and recommendations to leadership at the conclusion of the program.

Requirements:

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the requirement of sponsorship.
  • Enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Strong interest in renewable energy operations, field services, and utility-scale solar power generation.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and renewable energy technologies.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, procedures, and engineering drawings is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work safely in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record preferred.

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50-75% throughout the internship to solar project sites across the United States and Canada as business needs require.
  • Must be comfortable working in field environments, including remote project locations.
  • Ability to walk long distances across solar facilities, climb ladders as required, and work outdoors for extended periods.
  • Travel expenses associated with approved business travel will be covered in accordance with company policy.
