Join our Virtuoso team for a 10–12 week summer internship where you’ll gain hands-on experience in software quality engineering while helping deliver technology that supports better healthcare around the world.

As a Test Engineer Summer Intern, you’ll work alongside experienced software engineers and test engineers to ensure our products are reliable, high quality, and ready for customers. You’ll contribute to real projects, learn industry best practices, and develop technical skills that will set you up for a successful career in software engineering or quality engineering.

What you’ll be doing

As part of the Virtuoso team, you’ll help ensure our software delivers a great experience for customers by contributing to testing activities throughout the development lifecycle.

Your work may include:

  • Designing and executing manual and automated test cases
  • Identifying, investigating and documenting software defects
  • Working closely with software engineers to improve product quality
  • Contributing to automated testing using modern frameworks and tools
  • Learning about continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
  • Participating in agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospectives
  • Helping improve testing processes and quality practices across the team

Throughout your internship, you’ll receive regular feedback, coaching, and opportunities to build both your technical and problem-solving skills.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a curious, detail-oriented student who enjoys understanding how software works and is passionate about building high-quality products.

Your background

You’ll be currently studying towards a degree in:

  • Software Engineering
  • Computer Science
  • Computer Systems Engineering
  • Information Technology
  • Information Systems
  • Or another related discipline

You’ll be returning to university after the internship, with at least one semester of study remaining.

Technical skills

You’ll have experience with programming through your university studies, personal projects, hackathons or previous internships.

Experience with any of the following would be an advantage:

  • Java
  • JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Automated testing frameworks
  • REST APIs
  • SQL and databases
  • Git
  • CI/CD tools
  • Linux
  • AWS or Azure

Don’t worry if you haven’t worked with all of these—we’re interested in your potential, curiosity, and willingness to learn.
