About this Project Manager role at Orion Health
Are you a Project Manager who knows how to keep things moving, bring people together and navigate challenges without losing sight of the bigger picture?
We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to join Orion Health on a 12-month fixed-term contract!
In this role, you'll manage a portfolio of healthcare technology projects, working closely with customers and internal teams to deliver successful outcomes.
You'll be stepping into an established portfolio of customer relationships and projects, including work with some of New Zealand's leading healthcare organisations. From managing multiple smaller workstreams to overseeing larger implementation projects, you'll need to be comfortable juggling competing priorities while keeping stakeholders informed and engaged.
We're looking for someone who brings a practical, flexible approach to project management. Someone who can confidently manage scope, timelines and deliverables, while recognising that strong relationships and open communication are just as important as the project plan.
What you'll be doing:
- Managing multiple healthcare technology projects from planning through to delivery.
- Coordinating project activities, resources, timelines and budgets to ensure successful outcomes.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Managing project scope, risks, issues and changing requirements with a pragmatic approach.
- Facilitating clear communication between customers, technical teams and other stakeholders.
- Balancing competing priorities across multiple projects and workstreams.
- Taking ownership of project delivery while working collaboratively to resolve challenges.
About You
We're looking for an experienced Project Manager who combines strong delivery skills with excellent stakeholder management and a genuine ability to build trust.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- 4+ years of experience managing software implementation, IT or technology projects.
- Experience managing multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted customer relationships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- The confidence to take ownership, make decisions and know when to seek input or escalate.
- A flexible, solutions-focused approach and the ability to adapt as priorities change.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to keep projects on track without being overly reliant on rigid processes.
Experience in healthcare IT or health technology would be a bonus, but isn't essential. We're equally interested in hearing from Project Managers who have successfully delivered complex technology projects in other industries.
Formal project management certifications such as PRINCE2 or PMP are welcome, but they're not a requirement.
What matters most is your ability to build relationships, communicate with empathy and deliver results. You'll know when to challenge, when to listen and how to find solutions that work for everyone involved.
