An exciting opportunity to work as a Software Engineer within the Environment Simulators team based in our Stevenage office with our simulation developers!

Salary: Circa £58,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: typically 5 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: sole British Citizen only

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

You typically need 5 years of continuous UK residency.  Not having spent five years in the UK may not automatically disqualify you, but please be aware we cannot guarantee the outcome of the security clearance process and this may impact your ability to work for MBDA; these are processed on a case by case basis.

The opportunity:
MBDA UK is transforming how we develop Environment Simulator software. We are looking for talented Software Engineers to join a collaborative team where new ideas are valued as much as deep experience. In this role, you won’t just write code; you’ll help redefine our development practices and ensure the quality of our world-leading product portfolio.

What you’ll do:

• Build: Design and support simulation software used to test complex missile systems.
• Collaborate: Partner with diverse stakeholders across MBDA to deliver test capabilities from concept to production.
• Modernise: Help us transition from legacy platforms to cutting-edge development practices.
• Experiment: Research and implement new technologies to solve challenging customer requirements.

What we're looking for from you:

• Technical Foundation: A background in software engineering with experience in C, C++, or C#.
• Adaptability: A willingness to work with Ada (we will provide training) and a comfort with evolving processes.
• Quality Mindset: An appreciation for Test Driven Development (TDD), unit testing, and clean design.
• Collaborative Spirit: A desire to work in an Agile team and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
• Technical Curiosity: An understanding of CI/CD and DevOps is highly valued.
