About this Senior UX/UI Designer role at HP
Description -
Summary
We build AI-powered engineering tools — platforms that help engineers diagnose, monitor, and accelerate hardware and software development at scale.
We're looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer who can operate across AI-driven web platforms and enterprise Windows applications simultaneously — owning the full design lifecycle from user research to pixel-perfect delivery, in a team where design directly influences how thousands of engineers experience their daily tools.
This role demands someone who thrives in complexity: multiple products, multiple stakeholders, tight release cadences, and an agentic AI-native working culture where AI tools are part of the design workflow, not an afterthought.
What You'll Own
🎨 End-to-End UX/UI Design
- Own the full design lifecycle: user research → wireframes → prototypes → high-fidelity mockups → developer handoff
- Design for both AI-powered web platforms (LLM analytics, dashboards, insight portals) and enterprise Windows desktop applications
- Establish and maintain design systems, component libraries, and style guides across products
- Conduct usability testing and iterate based on real user feedback — not assumptions
🤖 AI-Native Design Practice
- Integrate AI tools (Figma AI, Copilot, generative design assistants) into daily design workflows for faster iteration
- Design UX patterns for AI-powered features: conversational interfaces, AI-generated insights, recommendation surfaces, and agent interaction flows
- Translate complex AI outputs into intuitive, trustworthy user experiences — making the invisible (model reasoning, confidence scores, data sources) feel clear and human
- Contribute to the team's AI Builder upskilling program by modeling AI-assisted design methods
🔗 Cross-Team Collaboration
- Partner with project managers, web developers, Windows engineers, and LLMOps engineers across multiple workstreams simultaneously
- Align design decisions with engineering constraints — know when to push creative vision and when to pragmatically adapt
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release reviews as the design voice
- Manage design handoff in tools like Figma — specs clean enough that developers build it right the first time
📋 Stakeholder Communication
- Present design concepts and rationale to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders — articulate design decisions in business and user impact terms
- Produce design documentation that stands alone: annotated mockups, decision logs, interaction specs
- Facilitate design reviews and gather structured feedback; drive alignment without losing design integrity
- Adapt design communication style for engineers (spec-level detail) and executives (strategic framing)
Required Qualifications
- 6–8 years of UX/UI design experience in software or enterprise product teams
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design work: research, wireframes, prototypes, and shipped product
- AI/data product experience: designed dashboards, analytics surfaces, or AI-powered features
- Figma proficiency: components, auto-layout, design systems, developer handoff — at an expert level
- Cross-platform experience: web application design AND desktop/Windows application design
- Collaboration fluency: worked embedded in agile engineering teams with real sprint cadences
- Excellent communication: can present design rationale to both engineers and executives clearly and confidently
- Bilingual preferred (English + Mandarin): team operates in both languages
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing conversational AI or agentic interfaces (chat UIs, AI copilots, assistant surfaces)
- Familiarity with Windows UX guidelines (WinUI, Fluent Design System) for desktop app design
- Background in enterprise B2B or internal tooling — understands that user ≠ buyer and power-user workflows matter
- Experience with user research in engineering/technical audiences (not just consumer UX)
- Familiarity with Figma AI, Adobe Firefly, or generative design tools as daily workflow accelerators
- Prior exposure to design in resource-constrained teams — can scope design deliverables to match engineering bandwidth
