Cisco Isovalent builds open-source software and enterprise solutions solving networking, security, and observability needs for modern cloud-native infrastructure. The flagship technology, Cilium, is the choice of numerous industry-leading global organizations.

As part of Cisco Hypershield, our team develops enterprise security applications that help organizations secure modern cloud and distributed environments. We build intuitive user experiences that simplify policy management, vulnerability visibility, reporting, and security workflows, enabling customers to confidently manage and protect their infrastructure at scale.

Your Impact

As a Senior Product Designer, you will focus primarily on Hypershield experiences supporting a variety of roles from Network Security Engineers to Platform Teams. You will partner closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, and other designers to understand complex security workflows, identify gaps and opportunities, explore concepts, and translate them into intuitive product experiences. Success in this role means bringing a strong user perspective to complex problems and helping cross-functional teams move from requirements and technical capabilities to thoughtful, usable solutions.

  • Develop user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for Hypershield experiences.

  • Partner with Product Management and Engineering to understand product requirements, technical capabilities, and constraints and translate them into effective user experiences.

  • Evaluate complex workflows from the user’s perspective, identify gaps and opportunities, and develop design options that help teams arrive at well-informed solutions.

  • Design novel, inventive, high-scale data visualizations based on deep technical subject matter comprehension, exceptional interaction and motion design skills, and a sharp eye for visual polish.

  • Apply established design systems and use modern design and AI-assisted tools to explore concepts and accelerate prototyping.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree + 7 years of related experience, Master’s degree + 4 years of related experience, or PhD + 1 year of related experience.

  • Experience designing complex enterprise product experiences that span multiple workflows, products, services, or platform capabilities.

  • Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end enterprise product design work, including user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, high-fidelity visual designs, and clear articulation of design decisions using Figma or similar tools.

  • Experience leading complex design initiatives and collaborating with Product Management, Engineering, Research, and other designers from problem definition through implementation.

  • Experience using AI-enabled design or prototyping tools to explore concepts, iterate rapidly, or accelerate design workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing enterprise platform products across infrastructure, SaaS, cybersecurity, networking, IT, or other technically complex environments.

  • Experience designing system-level or cross-product experiences where multiple services, workflows, or platform capabilities come together in a unified customer experience.

  • Technical understanding of modern web applications and concepts such as APIs, integrations, platform architecture, or AI/agentic experiences, with the ability to translate technical capabilities into intuitive user experiences.

  • Familiarity with AI-driven design, conversational or agentic UX, generative interfaces, or AI-assisted prototyping workflows.

  • Strong presentation, communication, storytelling, and influencing skills across Product, Engineering, Research, and Design.
